About the Airtac MTG Stainless Steel Mini Cylinder MTG20X125S
The AirTAC MTG20X125S is a single acting PULL mini cylinder built to the JIS footprint: a 20 mm bore and 125 mm stroke in a round SUS304 stainless barrel with a hard-chrome plated rod and riveted covers. Because it is spring return, the internal spring holds the rod EXTENDED at rest, and compressed air applied through the 1/8" port RETRACTS (pulls) the rod on the work stroke. Net pull output, already after the spring, is 84.8 N at 0.5 MPa and 137.5 N at 0.7 MPa, with a minimum working pressure of 0.2 MPa (28 psi) and a speed range of 50-800 mm/s.
The magnet fitted on this -S version lets you mount CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches for end-of-stroke signalling. The fixed anti-impact bumper pad softens the stroke ends but is not a lock or brake: on air loss the spring simply pushes the rod back out to its extended rest position, so the cylinder does not hold a load. A practical sizing insight: at a realistic 0.5 MPa supply, 84.8 N is roughly 8.6 kgf of pull, so halving it gives a safe working load of about 4 kg on a vertical draw. Retracting a locating pin
