Airtac TACED Guided Compact Cylinder TACED100X90

The AirTAC Airtac TACED Guided Compact Cylinder TACED100X90 is a genuine double acting, double rod, non-rotating ISO 21287 compact air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 90mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. Its short compact envelope saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder. Twin guide rods keep the tooling from rotating.

About the Airtac TACED Guided Compact Cylinder TACED100X90

A double acting, double-rod compact cylinder built to ISO 21287, the TACED100X90 pushes a 100 mm bore through a 90 mm stroke with a rod leaving both covers. Because each side works on the rod-side area, output is identical in either direction: 3769.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 5277.9 N at 0.7 MPa, both ways. Twin guide rods on the yoke stop the tooling rotating and carry side load, so a press plate or gripper stays square without an external guide.

The hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome plated 20 mm rod shrugs off wear in high-cycle service, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-stroke shock. The short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into heavy jigs and gantries where a full-length body will not fit. In practice, plan on roughly 230 kg of usable vertical force at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rating), or size it to lift about 192 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, and the port is 1/4" (PT).

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACE-series (ISO 21287) datasheet. Body: hard-anodized aluminium alloy; piston rod: S45C carbon steel with hard-chrome plating; guide rods: stainless steel (Ø12-40) / S45C (larger). Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G. A built-in magnet is OPTIONAL — add the -S code to fit CMSE / DMSE position sensors.

PressureForce (both ways)
0.5 MPa3770 N
0.7 MPa5278 N
Max (@1.0 MPa)769 kgf

Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used). Twin guide rods carry the side load and stop the tooling rotating.

Where the Airtac TACED Guided Compact Cylinder TACED100X90 Is Used

precision_manufacturing

Heavy jig clamping

Clamps large weld fixtures from both sides with equal 3769.9 N force, and the twin guide yoke keeps the clamp pad square to the part without extra guiding.

factory

Press-fit station

Delivers about 230 kg of usable press force at 0.5 MPa for bushings and bearings in automotive sub-assembly cells, with the 90 mm stroke covering typical part depth.

vertical_align_bottom

Gantry part lowering

Lowers and lifts roughly 192 kg pallet fixtures vertically with a 2:1 margin, the compact body fitting inside tight gantry beams where a full-length cylinder cannot.

Is the Airtac TACED Guided Compact Cylinder TACED100X90 the Right Cylinder?

At 3769.9 N per direction at 0.5 MPa, this is the top of the TACED range; step down to TACED80X90 for 2356.2 N or to TACED63X90 for 1458.1 N if the load is lighter. There is no smaller step above 100 mm bore in this series. The rod end carries a female M12x1.25 thread class per the yoke design - confirm from datasheet - and mounting is FB flange. It does not hold position when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check valve for a held load. Position sensing needs the optional -S magnet code; without it no CMSE or DMSE switch can be fitted.

Quick checklist

  • ✓ Required force at your working pressure
  • ✓ Short stroke fits the compact body
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S if you need the magnet for sensors
  • ✓ Rod type (female / male B) & mount (FA/LB/CA)

Installation & Maintenance Notes

  • check Use clean air filtered to 40µm or finer.
  • check Keep within 0.15 – 1.0 MPa operating pressure.
  • check Compact body: keep the stroke short and avoid side load on the rod.
  • check Do not dismantle the threaded front/back covers.
  • check Keep speed within the rated range; the TPU bumper absorbs stroke-end energy.
  • check Installation by qualified personnel per AirTAC docs.

Airtac TACED Guided Compact Cylinder TACED100X90 FAQ

The TACED100X90 is a double-rod cylinder, so force is equal both ways: 3769.9 N at 0.5 MPa and 5277.9 N at 0.7 MPa in each direction, with a maximum of 768.8 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Both sides work on the rod-side area of the 100 mm bore, so push and pull are identical. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof rating, speed 30-500 mm/s, and the port is 1/4" (PT).

The ISO 21287 short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end absorbs end-of-stroke energy. Sensing is not included by default: order the optional -S magnet code to enable CMSE or DMSE switches on the body slots; without -S there is no magnet and no switch can be read. Mounting is FB flange, and the cylinder does not hold a load when air is lost - use a rod lock or pilot check valve for that.
