The AirTAC Airtac TN Double Axis Double Rod Cylinder TN20X15S is a genuine TN twin-rod (double-rod) double-acting cylinder, 20 mm bore. Two parallel rods on one plate resist bending and twisting and let the load mount without rotating. It delivers about 314.2 N of push at 0.5 MPa. A front bumper cushions the impact and adjusts the stroke over a -5 to 0 mm range.
Twin-rod cylinders run two parallel rods on a shared plate to stop the load from bending or twisting as it moves. The AirTAC TN20X15S has a 20mm bore and a short 15mm stroke, giving a theoretical push thrust of 314.2 N at 0.5 MPa. A bumper pad at the front absorbs impact and lets you trim stroke by -5 to 0 mm.
As a genuine AirTAC enterprise-standard part, it carries PT thread and a standard magnet for switch sensing, with slots moulded around the body. Contact us to confirm dimensions and sizing from the datasheet before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC TN/TR twin-rod data. Operating pressure is set by bore (0.2 MPa minimum on the 6 and 10 mm bores). The front cover and piston are short, so avoid an over-long stroke. Overall dimensions vary per stroke and allowable side-load is published as curves — ask us and we confirm from the datasheet.
Select bore by the thrust you need: the 20mm bore on this TN20X15S provides 314.2 N push at 0.5 MPa, with pull thrust lower. TN is the enterprise standard with PT thread only, whereas TR meets JIS and offers a precise guide with higher non-rotating accuracy plus G or NPT thread options. The 15mm stroke is short and well within the bore's table, so side-load risk is low, but confirm limits with us. All TN models use PT thread.
Clamp a workpiece against a fixture jaw during milling. The 15mm stroke delivers fast clamp-and-release cycles, and the twin rods keep the clamp face square so it does not twist the part under cutting load.
Extend a pin into a conveyor lane to stop a passing pallet, then retract 15mm to release it. The twin-rod guide keeps the pin aligned with the stop hole over many cycles, and the bumper softens the pin's impact.
Press a small bearing bushing into a housing with a 15mm stroke. The twin rods prevent the press tip from rotating, so the bushing enters straight rather than cocking, and the bumper dials in the final insertion depth.
TN follows the enterprise standard with PT thread only and bores from 10 to 32mm. TR meets the JIS standard, offers bores from 6 to 32mm with PT, G, or NPT thread, and adds a precise sliding guide for higher non-rotating accuracy and lower rod-end deflection.
A bumper pad at the front of the cylinder absorbs end-of-stroke impact and lets you adjust the effective stroke over a -5 to 0 mm range. This is a mechanical bumper, not an air cushion, so it works at any speed within the 30-500 mm/s range.
