The 4V330P08E-W is a 5/3-way double-solenoid valve with a pressure-centre spool: when both coils are off, ports A and B stay pressurised while the exhaust is blocked, so a double-acting cylinder under O50-80 mm bores keeps air applied to both sides at mid-position. It switches on a 1/4" PT tapered port size and belongs to the 4V300 flow class, with an effective area of 21.3 mm2 (Cv 1.25) and a maximum cycling rate of 3 cycles per second.
This -W variant is the external-pilot build: pilot air is supplied through a dedicated external pilot port rather than tapped internally from the main line, so spool shifting stays dependable on low main pressure or vacuum-side circuits. Size the valve so effective area / Cv is not the bottleneck for your cylinder bore and speed. Undersized valves slow the actuator. Note 5/3 (center) versions have a smaller effective area than the 5/2 of the same body size.
