This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X120 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X120 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X120 is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 120mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X120 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X120 is a double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, with a 25 mm bore and 120 mm stroke. At 0.5 MPa it pushes with 245.4 N and pulls with 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 343.6 N and 288.6 N. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed range 30-500 mm/s, and the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a female M6x1.0 thread.
For real-world sizing, plan on about 147 N (roughly 15 kg of thrust) as the usable working force at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating, which means this cylinder lifts about 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Both ends carry a fixed TPU bumper that only decelerates the piston - it never locks or holds a load, so use a rod lock or pilot check valve if the position must be kept with air off. Note that this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X120 (swap the P for an E), which matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X120 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X120 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×120 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa holds aluminium brackets or plastic housings in a CNC drilling fixture, and the short body fits inside the fixture plate where a full-length cylinder cannot.
With about 15 kg of usable thrust at 0.5 MPa, the 120 mm stroke pushes cartons or blisters sideways off a conveyor into a chute at up to 500 mm/s.
Lifts sample trays of about 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin, and the fixed TPU bumper decelerates the stroke ends for gentle tray handling.
At 25 mm bore this sits mid-range: a 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa for lighter clamping, while a 32 mm bore reaches 402.1 N when the load needs more margin. The 120 mm stroke is within the 150 mm standard limit for this bore, so no made-to-order stroke is needed. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings bolt to the standard face, and if you need position sensing, order the -S code to add the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches - without -S there is no magnet fitted. Since ACP25X120 is discontinued, select the ACE25X120 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
Push is 245.4 N and pull 206.2 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push is 343.6 N and pull 288.6 N; theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a double acting compact cylinder, 25 mm bore, 120 mm stroke, 10 mm rod with female M6x1.0 thread, M5x0.8 ports, operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, air filtered to 40 um. The model is discontinued - the replacement is ACE25X120.
Sensing is possible only with the optional -S magnet code: order ACP25X120S and CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted on the body. Without the -S code there is no magnet in the piston, so no switch will trigger. As the ACP series is no longer in production, the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X120 in the ISO 21287 family - confirm the mounting dimensions against your fixture before ordering.
