This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X120B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X120B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X120B is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 120mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X120B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X120B is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 120 mm stroke, driving a 10 mm hard-chrome S45C rod through a male thread (the B code). At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N, rising to 343.6 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical ceiling of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Air supply runs 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and rod speed 30-500 mm/s.
Its hard-anodized aluminium short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures a full-length body cannot reach. Plan on roughly 147 N (about 15 kg) of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the standard face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches. Note this model is discontinued: the current drop-in is the ACE25X120, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X120B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X120B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×120 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium brackets in drilling fixtures where the short body must fit between guide posts, and the 120 mm stroke clears part loading.
Boxes up to about 12 kg can be nudged off a packaging line belt, with the 30-500 mm/s speed range tuned to match line tempo and the fixed TPU bumper softening end travel.
Moulded clips are ejected from a bench-top die using the 343.6 N push at 0.7 MPa, with the male rod thread (B code) taking an I-type knuckle for the ejector plate.
Size both ways: if 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa is more than your jig needs, the 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N; if you need headroom, the 32 mm bore delivers 402.1 N at the same pressure. The 120 mm stroke sits inside the 150 mm standard range for bore 25, so no made-to-order length is required. Choose the B code for a male rod thread, add FA/FB, LB or CA/CB mounting to suit the fixture, and order the -S code only if CMSE / DMSE position sensing is needed. Remember a plain cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve to hold a load. For new builds, specify the ACE25X120 instead, as this ACP is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa, 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull; theoretical maximum 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a double acting compact cylinder, 25 mm bore, 120 mm stroke, 10 mm rod with male thread, M5x0.8 port, operating 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), 30-500 mm/s, -20 to +70 C, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The model is discontinued; the ACE25X120 is the current replacement.
Only if you order the -S code, which adds the optional magnet. With the magnet fitted, AirTAC CMSE reed or DMSE solid-state switches clamp onto the body for end-of-stroke signalling. A plain ACP25X120B has no magnet, so no switch will respond. Also confirm the ISO 21287 dimensions of the ACE25X120 successor before designing it into a new fixture.
