This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X30SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X30SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X30SB is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 30mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X30SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, the ACP25X30SB delivers 245.4 N of push force and 206.2 N of pull force at 0.5 MPa, rising to 343.6 N at 0.7 MPa. The 25 mm bore drives a 10 mm rod over a 30 mm stroke, with a male rod thread (B code) and M5x0.8 ports. Its short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE reed or solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the body for end-of-stroke sensing. A fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the piston, and the hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) at 30-500 mm/s. Note that ACP25X30SB is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE25X30, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. As a rule of thumb, plan on roughly 147 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 15 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X30SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X30SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×30 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps small aluminium or plastic workpieces in drill and milling fixtures, and the short body fits inside the fixture footprint.
With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm extend and retract as the cylinder kicks off-spec cartons off a conveyor at up to 500 mm/s.
About 15 kg of vertical lift capacity with a 2:1 margin suits pressing caps or sensors onto vials and modules in compact analytical instruments.
At 25 mm bore this cylinder sits between the 20 mm (157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa) and 32 mm (402.1 N push at 0.5 MPa) sizes - pick the 20 mm if your load is under about 90 N of real work, or step up to 32 mm when you need more than 240 N of usable force. The 30 mm stroke is well inside the 150 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore. Because the piston drifts when air is lost, add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must stay put. The male rod thread suits I/Y knuckles, and FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the same face. For new projects, order ACE25X30 instead - ACP25X30SB is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 343.6 N and pulls 288.6 N. The theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting, runs on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) air filtered to 40 um, and moves at 30-500 mm/s over a 30 mm stroke.
No - the ACP family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is ACE25X30, the ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN standard. This model has a male rod thread, M5x0.8 ports and the -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches.
