This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X60 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X60 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X60 is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 60mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X60 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X60 is a double acting compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 60 mm stroke, built on the DIN-standard short-body format with a hard-anodized aluminium body and an S45C hard-chrome piston rod. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 343.6 N and 288.6 N. Its short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
For real-world sizing, treat about 147 N (roughly 15 kg) as the usable push force at 0.5 MPa instead of the full 245.4 N rating - that margin keeps acceleration and friction honest. In vertical terms the bore can lift about 12 kg at 0.5 MPa, or around 6 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note that this unit is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X60, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The rod end carries a female M6x1.0 thread and the air port is M5x0.8.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X60 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X60 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×60 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
With 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa (about 15 kg of usable force with margin), the 25 mm bore suits light press-fitting of bushings, pins and connectors in electronics assembly fixtures.
The 60 mm stroke and short body fit compact Z-axes on benchtop robots; at 0.5 MPa the bore lifts roughly 12 kg vertically, enough for small trays and machined caps.
On packaging lines the fixed TPU bumpers soften end-of-stroke contact when the rod clamps flaps or lids, and the short body tucks under low guard rails.
At 25 mm bore this sits mid-range: a 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa if your load is lighter, while a 32 mm bore delivers 402.1 N when you need more muscle. The 60 mm stroke is well inside the 150 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a catalogue item, not a made-to-order build. Remember that a plain ACP25X60 drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must stay put. Mounting options include FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis. If you need position feedback, order the -S variant to enable CMSE or DMSE switches; without the -S code there is no magnet. For new projects, specify the ACE25X60 instead, as this model is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 343.6 N and pulls 288.6 N; theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 25 mm bore, 60 mm stroke, 10 mm rod, M5x0.8 port, female M6x1.0 rod thread, operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s and a temperature range of -20 to +70 C.
Order the ACE25X60, the current-production ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same bore, stroke and force class in a matching short body. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture, since the ACP was built to the older DIN-standard format. Mounting brackets such as FA/FB flanges, LB feet and CA/CB clevises are available for the ACE family.
