This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X70SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X70SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X70SB is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 70mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X70SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X70SB is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 70 mm stroke, male rod thread and PT ports. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N, rising to 343.6 N at 0.7 MPa. Its hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome rod is roughly 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. The 70 mm stroke sits well inside the 150 mm standard limit for this bore.
This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be fitted for end-of-stroke sensing. With 245.4 N of push, plan on roughly 147 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 15 kg vertically - halve that to around 7 kg if you want a 2:1 margin on a real part. Note the fixed TPU bumpers only soften the ends of travel; they never hold a load, so use a rod lock or pilot check valve where position must be kept. The ACP family is discontinued - the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X70 in the same bore, stroke and force class, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X70SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X70SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×70 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium brackets or plastic housings in a machining jig, and the short body fits inside the fixture plate footprint.
With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm extend and retract on a 70 mm push stroke feeding screws or press-fit pins in an electronics line.
About 15 kg of vertical lift equivalent at 0.5 MPa makes this bore a fit for ejecting finished components off a conveyor transfer plate into a bin.
At 25 mm bore this model delivers 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa. If your load needs less, the 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N; if more, step up to the 32 mm bore at 402.1 N. The male rod thread (B code) suits rod knuckles and external tooling, while FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the standard face. The -S magnet on this unit enables CMSE / DMSE switch sensing. Since the ACP is discontinued, order the ACE25X70 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture.
Replacement checklist
Push is 245.4 N and pull 206.2 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push is 343.6 N and pull 288.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It runs double acting on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), temperature -20 to +70 C, speed 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends and a 10 mm rod with male thread.
Order the ACE25X70, the current-production ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same 25 mm bore, 70 mm stroke and force class with a similar short body and mounting family, but because the ACP is DIN-standard you should confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before the swap.
