This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X80B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X80B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X80B is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 80mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X80B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, the ACP25X80B delivers 245.4 N of push force and 206.2 N of pull force at 0.5 MPa, rising to 343.6 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 25 mm bore drives a 10 mm rod through an 80 mm stroke, fed by M5x0.8 ports, and the B code specifies a male rod thread. Its hard-anodized aluminium body and S45C hard-chrome rod run on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), moving at 30-500 mm/s with a fixed TPU bumper at each end.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. Because about 60% of the push rating is a realistic working force, plan on roughly 147 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa - equivalent to lifting about 15 kg vertically, or around 7-8 kg with a 2:1 margin. Note that this unit is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE25X80, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X80B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X80B produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×80 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
With 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa and a 10 mm male-thread rod, the 25 mm bore suits small bench presses that stake, mark or seat light aluminium fittings.
The short body fits inside drill and milling jigs where a full-length profile cylinder would overhang, clamping workpieces with about 147 N of practical force.
An 80 mm stroke matches typical flap-fold travel on semi-automatic carton sealers, retracting under air power thanks to the double-acting design.
At 25 mm bore this sits mid-range: a 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa for lighter clamping, while a 32 mm bore raises it to 402.1 N when the load grows. The 80 mm stroke is well inside the 150 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so no made-to-order build is needed. Choose the male rod thread (B code) when your knuckle or fixture bolts onto the rod; FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounting covers the fixture side. If you need position feedback, order the -S variant to add the magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches - this model has no magnet fitted. Remember a plain cylinder drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check valve for held loads. For new projects, specify ACE25X80 instead.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull. The theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and speed spans 30-500 mm/s.
No - the ACP series is discontinued. The current-production replacement is ACE25X80, an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions, since the ACP was built to a DIN standard. Also note the optional -S magnet code if you plan to fit CMSE or DMSE position switches.
