This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED32X50B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED32X50B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD32X50B is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 50mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED32X50B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This is a double acting, double-rod compact cylinder in the AirTAC ACP series, now discontinued. A 12 mm piston rod exits both covers, so the 32 mm bore delivers 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa in BOTH directions, since each stroke works on the rod-side area. The B code gives a male rod thread and the port is 1/8". Its short ISO 21287 body cuts roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs, guards and gantry frames.
Because the rod passes through both ends, the piston resists rotation and side load, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag or a second tooling plate. Fixed TPU bumpers sit at each end, the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). At 0.5 MPa the 345.6 N output equals about 35 kgf, so plan on roughly 21 kg of usable vertical lift with a sensible margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED32X50, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED32X50B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 346 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 484 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 70 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×50 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The through-rod lets a 32 mm bore clamp a machined aluminium housing from both sides with an equal 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa, ideal for a CNC jig needing balanced side pressure.
The short ISO 21287 body, about 50% shorter in mounting length than an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, fits a 50 mm lift stroke inside a low-profile pick-and-place gantry over a conveyor.
With a male-threaded rod on each end, one side drives a leak-test probe while the rear rod carries a flag for position sensing - a common setup on automotive valve-body test benches.
Size both ways: if 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa is more than the job needs, the ACPD25 at 206.2 N suits lighter clamping; if the load needs more, step up to the ACPD40 at 571.8 N. The 50 mm stroke sits well inside the 200 mm maximum standard stroke for bore 32, so it is a catalogue item. A plain double-rod cylinder does not hold position when air is lost - the piston drifts - so add a rod lock or pilot check for a held load. This unit has no magnet because the optional -S code was not ordered; if you need CMSE or DMSE switches, order the -S version or the ACED equivalent. Mounting brackets from the FA/FB flange and LB foot family bolt to the same face. Replace it with the ACED32X50 and verify ISO 21287 dimensions.
Replacement checklist
As a double-rod cylinder it pushes and pulls with the same force: 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa in both directions, peaking at 70.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, speed 30-500 mm/s, and a fixed TPU bumper at each end. It is discontinued; the ACED32X50 is the current replacement.
Not on this unit. The magnet is the optional -S ordering code, and this model was ordered without it, so no CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switch can be detected. If switching is required, order the -S variant or move to the current-production ACED32X50 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap.
