This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED32X90B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED32X90B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD32X90B is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 90mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED32X90B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD32X90B pushes and pulls with identical force because each stroke works on the rod-side area: 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa in either direction. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, gives a symmetric mounting face, and lets the rear rod carry a sensor flag or a second tool. A fixed TPU bumper sits at each end, and speed runs 30-500 mm/s over an air supply of 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, cutting roughly 50% of the mounting length compared with an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and gantries. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACED32X90 (swap the P for an E), so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering. For sizing, treat about 207 N as the usable push at 0.5 MPa - roughly 21 kg of vertical lift at full rating, or about 10 kg with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED32X90B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 346 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 484 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 70 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×90 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The through-rod lets one cylinder clamp from both faces of a machining fixture, delivering 345.6 N per side at 0.5 MPa without mirroring the mount.
A rear rod drives a product pusher while the front rod carries a position flag; the short ISO 21287 body fits the narrow gap between conveyor frames.
Equal 345.6 N force in both directions moves a sample slide between stations, with the fixed TPU bumper decelerating each end of the 90 mm travel.
At 345.6 N per side at 0.5 MPa, the 32 mm bore suits clamping and transfer tasks in the 10-20 kg vertical-lift range. Step down to the 25 mm bore (206.2 N) for lighter fixtures, or up to the 40 mm bore (571.8 N) when the part weight grows. The 90 mm stroke sits well inside the 200 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore. This unit has the B male rod thread and PT ports; the magnet is not fitted, so no CMSE or DMSE switch can be used unless you order the -S code. Since ACPD is discontinued, spec the ACED32X90 as the current ISO 21287 replacement and verify its mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
Yes - the double-rod design means both strokes use the rod-side area, so output is equal each way: 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa, 483.8 N at 0.7 MPa, and up to 70.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends and a 12 mm male-threaded rod on the B code.
Order the ACED32X90, the current ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same 32 mm bore, 90 mm stroke and force class, and accepts the FA/FB flange, LB foot and clevis brackets. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping, since the ACP was built to the older DIN standard.
