This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACED80X45 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACED80X45 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPD Double Rod Compact Cylinder ACPD80X45 is a double acting, double rod DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø80mm bore and 45mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACED80X45 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder with a rod leaving both covers, the ACPD80X45 delivers 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa in each direction because both strokes work on the rod-side area. The 80 mm bore and 45 mm stroke suit short-stroke, high-force jobs such as clamping and press-fit fixtures, running at 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi).
The hard-anodized aluminium body is an ISO 21287 short build that saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight gantries and guarding. The through-rod resists rotation and side load, and the rear rod can carry a sensor flag. Fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACED80X45, same bore, stroke and force class. As a sizing guide, plan on about 1414 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 72 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACED80X45 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Force (both ways) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 2356 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 3299 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 481 kgf |
Double-rod: a rod exits both covers, so output force is equal in both directions (rod-side area used).
| ACPD | DIN compact cylinder (double-rod, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 80 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×45 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 2356.2 N both-ways force at 0.5 MPa seats bearings or bushings in a 45 mm stroke automotive assembly fixture, with equal return force for part ejection.
The short ISO 21287 body fits under low gantry rails on electronics lines, and the rear rod carries a flag for CMSE / DMSE switches when the -S magnet is ordered.
On a packaging conveyor, the through-rod drives a reject gate symmetrically at 30-500 mm/s, with fixed TPU bumpers absorbing end-of-travel shock.
Pick the ACPD80X45 when a 45 mm stroke must push or pull about 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa from both ends. If the load is lighter, the 63 mm bore gives 1458.1 N at 0.5 MPa; if you need more, the 100 mm bore reaches 3681.6 N. Remember the piston drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check for a held load. Mounting uses FA/FB flange or LB foot on the ISO 21287 face, and the optional -S magnet enables CMSE / DMSE switches. Since this cylinder is discontinued, order ACED80X45 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
Replacement checklist
Because a rod exits both covers, output is equal both ways: 2356.2 N at 0.5 MPa and 3298.7 N at 0.7 MPa, both on the rod-side area. Maximum force at 1.0 MPa is 480.5 kgf. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure.
This model is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACED80X45, swapping the P for an E with the same 80 mm bore, 45 mm stroke and force class. It mounts via FA/FB flange or LB foot on the ISO 21287 face, has a female M12x1.75 rod thread, a 1/4" port and fixed TPU bumpers. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP is DIN-standard.
