This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE100X10B — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE100X10B in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP100X10B is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø100mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/4" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE100X10B (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting, spring-return pull cylinder for heavy clamping and holding work: the ATP100X10B uses a 100 mm bore to deliver 3395.3 N of pull at 0.5 MPa (4867.9 N at 0.7 MPa), both figures already net of the return spring. The spring holds the rod extended at rest, so the fixture fails to the clamped or extended state whenever air is lost. Air filtered to 40 um at 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) does the retracting, with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof rating and a 1/4" port sized for this large bore.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters when a 100 mm bore has to fit inside a press fixture or weld jig. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries a 25 mm S45C hard-chrome rod with a male thread (the B code), and fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends. For positioning feedback, order the -S code to add the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches; without -S there is no magnet. This model is discontinued - the current-production drop-in is the ATE100X10, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. As a planning figure, treat roughly 2037 N (about 207 kg of pull) as the usable working force at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE100X10B (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 3395.3 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 4867.9 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 100 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The spring keeps locating pins extended in a 100 mm-bore stamping die; 3395.3 N of air pull at 0.5 MPa retracts them only while the machine is armed, so a power loss leaves the die in its safe home state.
A robot weld cell uses the 10 mm stroke to release a heavy gate latch on demand; the spring-extended position keeps the gate latched whenever air pressure drops below the 0.2 MPa minimum.
On a heavy pallet conveyor line, the rod holds a steel stopper up by spring force and the 100 mm bore pulls it down with about 346 kgf equivalent at 0.5 MPa, clearing the pallet path in 10 mm.
Size the bore to the job: a 63 mm bore in this family pulls about 1320 N at 0.5 MPa, while this 100 mm bore reaches 3395.3 N - pick the 100 only when the load genuinely needs it, since the larger body needs more room. For vertical lifting, the 0.5 MPa pull equals about 346 kgf, so plan on lifting roughly 173 kg with a 2:1 margin. Remember the spring returns the rod to its extended home on air loss and will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mount with FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis brackets, and add the optional -S magnet only if CMSE / DMSE switch feedback is required. Order the ATE100X10 instead - this ATP model is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa the net pull (already minus the return spring) is 3395.3 N; at 0.7 MPa it rises to 4867.9 N. Air supply must be at least 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring, within the 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) working band and 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof rating. For real work, plan on about 2037 N - roughly 207 kg of pull - at 0.5 MPa, or lift about 173 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Speed range is 50-500 mm/s.
Only if you order the -S variant: the optional -S magnet enables CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches along the body. The plain ATP100X10B has no magnet, so no switch will trigger. The ATP family is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ATE100X10 (P changed to E), a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since this model follows the DIN-standard layout.
