About the Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP32X15B
A single acting pull cylinder with spring return, the ATP32X15B keeps its 12 mm rod extended by the spring and retracts it with compressed air, needing just 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. At 0.5 MPa it pulls 296 N (434.2 N at 0.7 MPa), figures already net of the spring, through a 15 mm stroke with a 1/8" port. The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the short ISO 21287 format, saving roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into cramped jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is the ATE32X15, the same bore, stroke and force class.
The B code gives a male rod thread, handy when your tooling bolts straight to the rod. Plan on about 178 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full 296 N rating, which corresponds to lifting roughly 15 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note there is no magnet fitted on this version - the optional -S code is what enables CMSE / DMSE switches. Fixed TPU bumpers at both ends absorb end-of-travel shock, and speed runs 50-500 mm/s.
