This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ATE32X25 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ATE32X25 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ATP Single Acting Port Compact Cylinder ATP32X25 is a single acting, pull (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 25mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ATE32X25 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting pull cylinder with spring return, the ATP32X25 keeps its 32 mm bore in a short ISO 21287 style compact body: the spring extends the rod and compressed air retracts it, so the rod sits extended whenever air is lost. At 0.5 MPa the net pull is 296 N (434.2 N at 0.7 MPa, spring already deducted), and the minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa. This model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ATE32X25, which matches the same bore, stroke and force class.
The short body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it drops into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. A fixed TPU bumper at each end decelerates the rod; it never locks or holds a load mid-stroke. For a real-world margin, plan on roughly 178 N of usable pull at 0.5 MPa, which is about 15 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 safety factor. The rod end is female M8x1.25 and the port is 1/8" PT; no magnet is fitted on this code, so CMSE or DMSE switches need the optional -S version.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ATE32X25 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Pull force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 296.0 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 434.2 N |
Single-acting pull: the spring extends the rod; air retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ATP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting pull, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 296 N net pull at 0.5 MPa retracts a latch or clamp arm, and the spring re-extends it to the safe position the moment air pressure drops.
Air retracts a 25 mm stroke pusher gate to clear passing bottles at 50-500 mm/s, while the spring snaps it back extended on every stop.
The 32 mm bore pulls a small tool or sensor head clear of the part; the fixed TPU bumpers soften both ends of the short 25 mm travel.
Size by net pull: 296 N at 0.5 MPa for this 32 mm bore, 170.9 N if you step down to ATP25X25, and 500.3 N if you step up to ATP40X25. On air loss the spring returns the rod to its extended home position and will not hold a mid-stroke point, so add an external stop if the process needs one. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis brackets bolt to the standard mounting face. Order ATP32X25S if you want the optional magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. For new designs, specify ATE32X25 and confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
Replacement checklist
The quoted figures are net of the return spring: 296 N of pull at 0.5 MPa and 434.2 N at 0.7 MPa for the 32 mm bore. Air retracts the rod and the spring extends it, so at least 0.2 MPa is needed to overcome the spring. Operating range is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, fluid air filtered to 40 um, temperature -20 to +70 C. Port is 1/8" PT and the female rod thread is M8x1.25.
Order ATE32X25, the current ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same bore, stroke and force class in a short compact body. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture, since the ATP follows the older DIN-standard footprint. If you also need position sensing, remember the magnet is only present when the -S code is ordered, enabling CMSE or DMSE switches.
