The AirTAC MTG40X125 is a single acting, pull-type JIS mini cylinder with a 40 mm bore and 125 mm stroke: an internal spring holds the rod extended at rest, and compressed air retracts (pulls) it on the work stroke. Because only the pull stroke is powered, one air line and one valve position are all the circuit needs, which simplifies plumbing on retract-the-load applications. Net pull output, already after the spring, is about 339.1 N at 0.5 MPa and 550.1 N at 0.7 MPa. Working pressure runs 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, speed 50-800 mm/s, and -20 to +70 C operation on air filtered to 40 um.
Construction follows the JIS round-body mini format: a SUS304 stainless barrel with riveted covers and a hard-chrome (20 um) carbon-steel rod, so the cylinder suits damp and washdown-prone areas. A two-way lubricant-storing piston seal extends service intervals, and a fixed anti-impact bumper pad softens the stroke ends, though it is not a lock or brake.
