This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE20X75S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE20X75S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP20X75S is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE20X75S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting on a 20 mm bore, the ACP20X75S delivers 157.1 N push and 117.8 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 219.9 N push at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical peak of 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body cuts roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the barrel for end-of-stroke sensing.
Build quality is typical AirTAC: a hard-anodized aluminium body with threaded aluminium covers, an S45C hard-chrome piston rod, a two-way grease-storing piston seal and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends. Running on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), it covers 30-500 mm/s between -20 and +70 C. Note that ACP is discontinued: the current-production successor is the ACE20X75, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 94 N (roughly 9.6 kg, or about 4.8 kg vertical with a 2:1 margin) of usable work from the 157.1 N push rating.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE20X75S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACE20X75S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to hold aluminium or plastic workpieces in a drilling or milling jig, and the short body fits inside fixture plates where clamp space is scarce.
Because the -S magnet is fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm extend and retract on a 75 mm indexing move in electronics assembly or lab automation at up to 500 mm/s.
With about 9.6 kg of practical working force, the cylinder ejects cartons or blisters from a forming station on a packaging line without needing a longer ISO 15552 body.
At 75 mm stroke this sits inside the 100 mm standard stroke limit for the 20 mm bore, so no made-to-order barrel is needed. If 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa is marginal for the load, step up to the 25 mm bore (245.4 N push); if the force is generous, the 16 mm bore (100.5 N push) saves space. The female M6x1.0 rod thread and PT ports suit standard fittings, and FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounts keep fixture changes simple. For a load that must stay put when air is lost, add a rod lock or pilot check valve - the bumper does not hold position. Order the ACE20X75 as the current drop-in replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 219.9 N and pulls 164.9 N. The theoretical maximum is 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting, so air drives the rod in both directions, and speed ranges from 30-500 mm/s at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) supply.
Order the ACE20X75, the current ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same 20 mm bore, 75 mm stroke and force class in a matching short body. The ACE keeps the FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mounting family, but because the ACP was built to the DIN standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping.
