This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE20X75SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE20X75SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP20X75SB is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø20mm bore and 75mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE20X75SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP20X75SB is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 20 mm bore and 75 mm stroke, delivering 157.1 N of push and 117.8 N of pull at 0.5 MPa (219.9 N push at 0.7 MPa). Its hard-anodized aluminium body and S45C hard-chrome rod suit small clamping and positioning heads, and the male rod thread (B code) bolts straight to I/Y knuckles. Note that this model is discontinued; the current-production replacement is ACE20X75, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
Because the short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, it slots into tight fixtures, guards and small gantries. For sizing, plan on roughly 94 N (about 9.6 kg of thrust) of usable force at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating, and expect it to lift about 8 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. The S code means the optional magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted for end-position sensing.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE20X75SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 157 N | 118 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 220 N | 165 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 32 kgf | |
The ACE20X75SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 20 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×75 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
Clamps small machined parts on a CNC fixture with about 94 N of usable force at 0.5 MPa, and the 75 mm stroke clears part loading by hand.
Pushes finished parts off a small assembly station; the fitted magnet feeds CMSE or DMSE switch signals to the PLC for part-present confirmation.
Raises jigs or lids weighing up to about 8 kg with a 2:1 margin, fitting under a low machine guard thanks to the short compact body.
At 20 mm bore this sits between the 16 mm (100.5 N push at 0.5 MPa) and 25 mm (245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa) sizes; step up to 25 mm if your clamp needs more than about 94 N of working force. Stroke 75 mm is within the 100 mm standard range for this bore, so no made-to-order length is needed. Remember that a plain cylinder drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must be held. The male rod thread suits knuckle joints, and the magnet option is already fitted on this S-coded model. Order ACE20X75 as the current drop-in.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 157.1 N and pulls 117.8 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 219.9 N and pulls 164.9 N. The theoretical maximum is 32 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, speed range 30-500 mm/s, and the 75 mm stroke is within the 100 mm standard limit for this bore.
No - the ACP family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is ACE20X75, the same bore, stroke and force class in the ISO 21287 series. It is a drop-in successor, but confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping because the ACP was built to the DIN standard.
