About the Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP40X15SB
The ACP40X15SB is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 40 mm bore and a short 15 mm stroke, driving a 12 mm hard-chrome S45C rod through a male thread (the B code). At 0.5 MPa it pushes 628.3 N and pulls 571.8 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 879.6 N and 800.5 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 128.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures a full-length body cannot reach.
Plan on about 377 N of real work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the push rating), which corresponds to lifting about 32 kg vertically, or about 16 kg with a 2:1 margin. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries 1/8" ports, a fixed TPU bumper at each end, and speeds of 30-500 mm/s on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi). This model carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE switches can be mounted for end-position sensing. Note that the ACP family is discontinued; the current-production drop-in is the ACE40X15 in the same bore, stroke and force class.
