This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE32X15SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE32X15SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP32X15SB is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 15mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE32X15SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the ASP32X15SB extends its 12 mm rod on air and retracts on the built-in spring, so one air line is enough. At 0.5 MPa it delivers 352.5 N of push net of the spring (513.4 N at 0.7 MPa), and it needs only 0.2 MPa to overcome the spring. The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 compact format, cutting roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder - useful in tight jigs and guarded assemblies.
This 32 mm unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke signals. The male rod thread (B code) suits external knuckles and tooling, and a fixed TPU bumper sits at each end. Note the ASP family is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ASE32X15, same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ASE32X15SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 352.5 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 513.4 N |
Single-acting push: air extends the rod; the return spring retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ASP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting push, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×15 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
352.5 N at 0.5 MPa presses small bushings into aluminium housings; the spring return clears the part the moment air is released.
The 15 mm stroke and short ISO 21287 body clamp brackets inside a guarded jig, with CMSE/DMSE switches confirming the clamp is made.
A single line nudges rejected cartons off a conveyor lane; the spring retracts the 12 mm rod for the next cycle at up to 500 mm/s.
Size the job both ways: the 25 mm bore gives 210.1 N at 0.5 MPa, while stepping up to 40 mm raises it to 556.8 N - pick 32 mm when 352.5 N with margin fits. As a rule of thumb, plan on about 210 N (roughly 21 kgf) of real work at 0.5 MPa, and expect the spring to pull the rod home on air loss rather than hold a mid-stroke position. The male rod thread pairs with I/Y knuckles, and FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the standard face; add CMSE/DMSE switches only because this -S version carries the magnet. Order ASE32X15 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
It is single acting push, spring return: push is 352.5 N at 0.5 MPa and 513.4 N at 0.7 MPa, both already net of the return spring. Minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa (28-145 psi overall range, proof 1.5 MPa / 215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, port 1/8", rod 12 mm with male thread. In practice, budget about 210 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 18 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin.
The hard-anodized aluminium body follows the ISO 21287 short format, saving about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis options. The ASP family is discontinued; ASE32X15 is the current-production drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
