The MSG40X100 is a single acting, push type JIS mini cylinder with a 40 mm bore and 100 mm stroke: compressed air extends the rod and an internal return spring retracts it the moment air is released. Because air is only supplied on the work stroke, one air line and one valve port are enough, which trims air consumption and simplifies the circuit for one-way clamping, ejecting, lifting or pressing. The 40 mm bore is the largest in the MSG range and delivers about 439.6 N of push at 0.5 MPa (690.8 N at 0.7 MPa), figures already net of the return spring; the spring sets a 0.2 MPa (28 psi) minimum working pressure, and the rod retracts on air loss rather than holding a load.
Construction is a round-body JIS barrel in SUS304 stainless with a hard-chrome (20 um) carbon-steel rod, riveted covers, a two-way lubricant-storing piston seal and a fixed anti-impact bumper pad that softens stroke ends without acting as a lock or brake. Spring-return clamp

Size the MSG40X100 when your one-way work stroke needs the largest push in the MSG range: 439.6 N at 0.5 MPa or 690.8 N at 0.7 MPa, both already net of the return spring. For lighter clamping or ejection, the MSG32 (281.3 N at 0.5 MPa) or MSG25 (171.8 N) may suffice; the 40 mm bore is the top of the series. Remember the spring-return design imposes a 0.2 MPa (28 psi) minimum working pressure and caps the standard stroke at 150 mm, so for a longer stroke or powered retraction step up to the double-acting MG. If you need position detection, order the -S magnet variant to accept CMSG/DMSG/EMSG switches; this no-S model carries no magnet and no sensor can be mounted. Mount with LB foot, FA flange, CB clevis or SDB pivot, plus I or Y rod knuckles; ports are 1/8" on every MSG bore and thread options are PT (blank), G or NPT.
