That one-line operation is the whole appeal for a one-way job such as clamping, ejecting or pressing - a single valve port, a single air line, and no air spent on the return. The 40 mm bore delivers about 439.6 N push at 0.5 MPa and 690.8 N at 0.7 MPa, figures already net of the return spring, and the spring sets a 0.2 MPa (28 psi) minimum working pressure. As a rule of thumb, size the working load at roughly 0.6 of the push force, so about 260 N or 26 kg for this cylinder.
Construction matches the JIS mini-cylinder footprint, so it drops into standard JIS brackets and I or Y rod knuckles. Spring-return clamp
