The MSG40X125 is a single acting, PUSH type JIS round-body mini cylinder: compressed air extends the 16 mm rod, and an internal return spring retracts it the moment air is released. With a 40 mm bore and 125 mm stroke it delivers about 439.6 N of push at 0.5 MPa (690.8 N at 0.7 MPa), figures already net of the spring, and it runs from just 0.2 MPa (28-145 psi working range, 1.5 MPa / 215 psi proof). Because air is only supplied on the work stroke, one air line and one valve port are all the circuit needs, which saves air and simplifies plumbing for one-way clamp, eject and press duties.

For lighter clamping the MSG25 or MSG32 may suffice; if the job needs a two-directional stroke or more than 150 mm of travel, step up to the double-acting MG instead, since the return spring caps single-acting strokes and retracts the rod whenever air is lost. Note the 0.2 MPa minimum working pressure set by the spring, the 1/8" port on every MSG bore, and the M14x1.5 male rod thread.
