The MSG40X150S is a JIS-standard round-body mini cylinder in the largest MSG bore: single acting push type with spring return, 40 mm bore and 150 mm stroke. Compressed air extends the rod through a single air line, and an internal return spring retracts it the moment air is released, so the circuit needs only one valve port. Because the spring works against the piston, the rated output is already net of the spring: about 439.6 N push at 0.5 MPa and 690.8 N at 0.7 MPa. A practical rule of thumb is to size the working load at roughly 0.6 of the net force, which puts the safe continuous load for this cylinder at about 26 kg, or around 22 kg if you use it for vertical lifting.
Construction matches the rest of the MSG family: a SUS304 stainless barrel with a hard-chrome plated 16 mm rod (male thread M14x1.5) resists damp and washdown environments, riveted covers keep the round body compact, and a fixed anti-impact bumper pad softens the stroke ends. The 1/8" port is common to every MSG bore, and because the S code is fitted, CMSG, DMSG or EMSG magnetic switches can be clipped on for end-position sensing.
