AirTAC Pneumatics
The AirTAC GAFC is a two-piece F.R.L. set - a GA-series filter-regulator body plus a lubricator on one bracket - spanning 1/8 to 1 inch ports and five body sizes for machine air inlets.
inventory_2805 models availableThe AirTAC GAFC is a two-piece air preparation set: a GA-series filter and regulator sharing one body (a GAFR) joined by a bracket to a GA-series lubricator (a GAL). All three functions - filtering, regulation, lubrication - are present, but the piece count is two. The air is cleaned and set to pressure in the first body, then the lubricator adds a controlled oil mist downstream of the regulator, so oil never passes back through the regulator seat. Quick mounting clamps hold the set on one T-shape bracket at the machine air inlet, ahead of the directional valves and actuators.
Five body sizes cover ports from 1/8 inch (GAFC200) to 1 inch (GAFC600). Weights run from 590 g to 3430 g, drain bowls from 25 cc to 205 cc and oil bowls from 36 cc to 410 cc. The catalogue flow curve is a sizing envelope, not a rated flow: it is plotted to 1750 L/min at 0.7 MPa inlet on a GAFC200 and to 12000 L/min at 0.7 MPa inlet on a GAFC600. Every body shares one core specification: 40 um filtering (5 um with the W element), 1.0 MPa maximum pressure, 1.5 MPa proof pressure, -5 to +70 C, and PT, G or NPT threads.
Compared with the three-piece GAC, the GAFC integrates the filter and regulator into one body: one less joint between units, less rail or panel width, fewer fittings to fit and check at commissioning, and a lighter set at every body size. Variants cover polycarbonate, metal or nylon bowls (GAFC600 metal only), semi-auto plus manual drain or automatic drain (A), pressure type S (0.15-0.9 MPa) or L (0.15-0.4 MPa, on GAFC200-500), gauge or no gauge (N), and an optional reflux (K) valve. Each half is also a spare in its own right: a GAFC300-10 is GAFR300-10 + GAL300-10.

A GAFC300 or GAFC400 fitted at the air inlet of a carton wrapper or filling line feeds 4V solenoid valves and small cylinders with filtered, regulated, lubricated air from one bracket - the GAFC300 curve is plotted to 3500 L/min at 0.7 MPa inlet.
At a workshop drop serving several stations, a GAFC500 with its curve plotted to 7000 L/min at 0.7 MPa inlet regulates a 3/4 inch main to 0.15-0.9 MPa, and the automatic drain suits a point that is hard to reach.
Sensitive valve islands on a printing press take the 5 um W element instead of the standard 40 um grade, with the gauge omitted (N) where the control panel already carries one.
On tight air preparation panels, the two-piece GAFC saves rail width versus a three-piece set; if one half is damaged, only the GAFR or GAL of that body size and port is replaced.
Size the body to the machine's air demand, not to the pipe you happen to have - undersizing starves everything downstream. Bowl capacity sets the service interval: a 25 cc GAFC200 drain bowl needs attention far more often than the 205 cc bowl on a GAFC600 in the same air quality, so pick the automatic drain (A) when the unit sits somewhere awkward to reach. Choose type L only for a genuinely low-pressure band: it covers 0.15-0.4 MPa and cannot reach a 0.6 MPa setpoint at all, so a standard 0.5-0.6 MPa machine needs type S. Specify the 5 um W element for sensitive downstream devices, and the N no-gauge option where a panel gauge already exists.
Step out of the series when oil must not reach the downstream device - fit an AirTAC GAFR filter regulator instead, which has no lubricator - or when the three stages must be split or serviced as separate bodies, which is the three-piece AirTAC GAC series. A single replacement unit on its own is the separate GAFR or GAL in the same body size. Downstream of the GAFC, AirTAC 4V solenoid valves and the cylinder series they drive take the filtered, regulated, lubricated air. Confirm five points before ordering: body size against air demand, port size and thread (PT, G or NPT), pressure type (S or L), bowl material and drain type, and element grade plus gauge or no gauge.
Quick checklist
Five bodies: GAFC200 (1/8-1/4 inch ports, 590 g, 25 cc drain bowl), GAFC300 (1/4-1/2 inch, 1020 g, 60 cc), GAFC400 (3/8-1/2 inch, 1810 g, 100 cc), GAFC500 (3/4 inch, 1910 g, 108 cc) and GAFC600 (3/4-1 inch, 3430 g, 205 cc, metal bowl only). The catalogue flow curve is a sizing envelope plotted at 0.7 MPa inlet - to 1750 L/min on a GAFC200 up to 12000 L/min on a GAFC600 - not a rated flow.
Both deliver filtering, regulation and lubrication. The GAFC builds the filter and regulator into one body, so the set is two pieces with one less inter-unit joint, less rail or panel width and fewer fittings to check at commissioning - choose it when width is tight. The GAC keeps filter, regulator and lubricator as three separate bodies - choose it when the stages must be split or serviced independently.
Yes. A GAFC is exactly two constituents whose codes follow the body and the port: a GAFR filter and regulator plus a GAL lubricator. A GAFC300-10 is made of GAFR300-10 and GAL300-10, so a damaged half is replaced on its own rather than scrapping the set. Order the same body size and port code as the original.
Type S regulates 0.15-0.9 MPa (20-130 psi) and suits standard 0.5-0.6 MPa machines; type L regulates only 0.15-0.4 MPa (20-58 psi) for finer resolution over a low band, so it cannot reach a 0.6 MPa setpoint - L is offered on GAFC200 to GAFC500 only. Threads are PT, G or NPT, and the thread code also sets the gauge scale (PT shows MPa/psi, G shows bar/MPa, NPT shows psi/bar). For lubricant grade details beyond the recommended ISO VG 32 and for service intervals, confirm from the datasheet.
