This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE32X30S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE32X30S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X30S is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 30mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE32X30S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP32X30S is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 32 mm bore and 30 mm stroke, delivering 402.1 N push and 345.6 N pull at 0.5 MPa (rising to 563 N at 0.7 MPa). The -S code means the magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the hard-anodized aluminium body for end-of-stroke signalling. A fixed TPU bumper sits at both ends, and the female M8x1.25 rod thread accepts standard I/Y knuckles.
Because the short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, it slots into tight fixtures, slides and guarding where a full-length body will not go. For sizing, treat about 240 N (0.6 of the 402.1 N push) as the realistic working force at 0.5 MPa, which lifts roughly 24 kg vertically - halve that to about 12 kg if you want a 2:1 margin against a real part weight. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE32X30, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE32X30S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 402 N | 346 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 563 N | 484 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 82 kgf | |
The ACE32X30S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×30 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 402.1 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium or plastic workpieces in machining fixtures, and the 30 mm stroke keeps the envelope inside tight pallet space.
With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm extend and retract on small robotic gripper arms handling electronics trays.
About 24 kg of vertical force equivalent suits light pressing, staking and ink-marking of small brackets and nameplates at 30-500 mm/s.
At 402.1 N push and 345.6 N pull (0.5 MPa), the 32 mm bore sits between the 25 mm bore (245.4 N push) and the 40 mm bore (628.3 N push), so step up only if your load exceeds about 240 N of usable force. The 30 mm stroke is well inside the 200 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore. This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE switches work out of the box; FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the same face. Remember the rod drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve if you must hold a load. Replacement: ACE32X30.
Replacement checklist
Push is 402.1 N and pull 345.6 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push reaches 563 N and pull 483.8 N, with a theoretical maximum of 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is double acting with a 12 mm rod, 1/8" port (PT), female M8x1.25 rod thread, operating pressure 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s and a temperature range of -20 to +70 C. The fixed TPU bumper at both ends only softens end-of-travel - it never holds or brakes a load.
Order ACE32X30, the current-production ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same 32 mm bore, 30 mm stroke and force class with a similarly short body, and the FA/FB, LB, CA/CB mounting family carries over. Because the ACP was built to a DIN standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping.
