This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE32X60SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE32X60SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X60SB is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 60mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE32X60SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP32X60SB is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 32 mm bore and 60 mm stroke, driving a 12 mm hard-chrome S45C rod from a hard-anodized aluminium body. Air powers both the extend and return strokes, and fixed TPU bumpers at each end absorb end-of-travel shock. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 402.1 N and pulls 345.6 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 563 N and 483.8 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.
Plan on about 241 N (roughly 24 kg of thrust) for real work at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating, which means this unit lifts about 12 kg vertically once you keep a 2:1 margin - enough for small fixtures and light part transfer. The S in the code means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the body for end-of-stroke sensing, and the B code gives a male rod thread with a PT port thread. This model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE32X60, so confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before you swap.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE32X60SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 402 N | 346 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 563 N | 484 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 82 kgf | |
The ACE32X60SB produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×60 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
With 402.1 N of push at 0.5 MPa, the 60 mm stroke clamps aluminium brackets or plastic housings on a machining fixture where a short body is the only thing that fits under the guard.
The compact 32 mm body with male rod thread drives a pusher plate that diverts cartons between conveyor lanes, running at 30-500 mm/s with CMSE switches confirming each stroke.
About 24 kg of usable thrust at 0.5 MPa ejects stamped or moulded parts from a shallow nest, with the fixed TPU bumpers softening the return at both ends of travel.
Size against the load: the 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa if your fixture is lighter, while the 40 mm bore raises it to 628.3 N for heavier clamping - the 32 mm sits between at 402.1 N. Remember a plain cylinder of this type drifts when air is lost, so add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the 60 mm stroke must hold position under load. Foot, flange and clevis brackets bolt to the same mounting face, and if you need position feedback on a future build, order the -S magnet code with CMSE / DMSE switches. For new projects, specify the ACE32X60 instead - it is the current ISO 21287 successor in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 402.1 N and pulls 345.6 N. At 0.7 MPa the figures are 563 N push and 483.8 N pull. The theoretical maximum is 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, and speed spans 30-500 mm/s. For practical sizing, count on roughly 241 N of usable thrust at 0.5 MPa.
The hard-anodized aluminium body is a short ISO 21287-class design that saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, with FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis options plus a 1/8" PT port. The S code means the optional -S magnet is fitted on this unit, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches mount directly on the body. The ACP family is discontinued - order the ACE32X60 as the current drop-in and verify the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
