This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ASE32X10SB — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ASE32X10SB in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ASP Single Acting Guided Compact Cylinder ASP32X10SB is a single acting, push (spring return) DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 10mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ASE32X10SB (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A single acting push cylinder with spring return, the discontinued ASP32X10SB uses compressed air to extend its 12 mm rod and an internal spring to retract it, so only one air line is needed and the rod sits retracted whenever pressure drops. At 0.5 MPa this 32 mm bore delivers 352.5 N of push, already net of the spring, rising to 513.4 N at 0.7 MPa. It needs just 0.2 MPa (28-145 psi working band) to overcome the spring, and runs at 50-500 mm/s.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit. Because the 0.5 MPa push is 352.5 N, plan on roughly 211 N (about 21 kg of force) for real work rather than the full rating. This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE / DMSE switches can be mounted for end-of-stroke sensing, and the rod ends in a male thread per the B code. Production has ended: the current drop-in is ASE32X10, same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ASE32X10SB (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force (spring return) |
|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 352.5 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 513.4 N |
Single-acting push: air extends the rod; the return spring retracts it. Forces already net the spring; minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa.
| ASP | DIN compact cylinder (single-acting push, spring-return, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×10 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
A 10 mm stroke pressing caps onto cosmetic bottles needs only a short, firm nudge - 352.5 N at 0.5 MPa seats the cap and the spring retracts the head instantly between bottles.
Single acting push suits clamp-and-release jig positions: air extends to hold a steel bracket, and if the line drops the spring releases the part so operators are never trapped.
Kicking small cartons off a conveyor lane takes a quick 10 mm push; the compact body fits under low guard rails and a CMSE switch (via the -S magnet) confirms each kick.
Size the job both ways: if 352.5 N at 0.5 MPa is more than you need, the 25 mm bore gives 210.1 N; if you need more, the 40 mm bore reaches 556.8 N at the same pressure. Remember the spring drives the rod home on air loss, so this cylinder will not hold a mid-stroke position. Mounting brackets from the FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis family bolt to the standard face, and the -S magnet on this model accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. For new builds, order the ASE32X10 instead - the ASP is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes with 352.5 N, and at 0.7 MPa with 513.4 N - both figures are net of the return spring. Working pressure is 0.2-1.0 MPa (28-145 psi), proof pressure 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 50-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, and the 1/8" port depends on the 32 mm bore. Air extends the rod; the spring retracts it.
Each end carries a fixed TPU bumper that simply decelerates the rod at the ends of travel; it is not adjustable and never locks a load. This ASP model is discontinued - the current-production replacement is the ASE32X10 (swap the P for an E), a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before you swap.
