About the Airtac MSG Stainless Steel Mini Air Cylinder MSG25X125
The MSG25X125 is a single acting, push type JIS mini cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 125 mm stroke: compressed air extends the piston rod, and an internal return spring retracts it when air is released. Because air is only needed on the work stroke, one air line and one valve port are enough, which saves air and simplifies the circuit for one-way clamping, ejecting and pressing. The push force is already net of the spring: about 171.8 N at 0.5 MPa and 269.9 N at 0.7 MPa. As a rule of thumb, size the working load at about 0.6 of the push force, roughly 100 N, or about 8 kg for a safe vertical lift.
The round-body barrel is SUS304 stainless with a hard-chromed 10 mm rod, so the cylinder resists damp and washdown conditions, and the JIS standard footprint drops into standard JIS mini brackets and I/Y rod knuckles. Mounting options include LB foot, FA flange, CB clevis and SDB pivot, with a 1/8" port on every bore. The 20 mm bore is the smallest MSG and the 40 mm the largest; move up if you need more push, down to save air.
