About the Airtac MSG Stainless Steel Mini Air Cylinder MSG25X25S
The MSG25X25S is a single acting, PUSH type JIS round-body mini cylinder: compressed air extends the 10 mm rod, and an internal return spring retracts it when air is released. With a 25 mm bore and 25 mm stroke it delivers about 171.8 N of push at 0.5 MPa (269.9 N at 0.7 MPa), already net of the spring, and runs from just 0.2 MPa (28-145 psi operating range) at 50-800 mm/s. Because air is only supplied on the work stroke, you need one air line and one valve port, which saves air and simplifies the circuit for one-way clamping, ejecting or pressing.
The SUS304 stainless barrel and hard-chrome plated rod resist damp and washdown conditions, while riveted covers and a fixed anti-impact bumper pad soften the stroke end. The fitted magnet (the S code) allows CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches to be mounted for end-of-stroke signalling. As a rule of thumb, size the working load at about 0.6 of the push force, so roughly 10 kg at 0.5 MPa, or about 8 kg for a safe vertical lift. Note the spring-return travel caps standard strokes at 150 mm; for a longer or two-directional stroke, step up to the double-acting MG.

Choose the MSG25X25S when a 25 mm bore suits your force need: about 171.8 N push at 0.5 MPa, net of the return spring, over a short 25 mm stroke. Bore 20 is the smallest MSG with about 109.9 N, while bore 40 reaches about 439.6 N if you need more push. The spring return means the rod retracts on air loss, and the minimum working pressure is 0.2 MPa, set by the spring.
