About the Airtac MTG Stainless Steel Mini Cylinder MTG25X125
The AirTAC MTG25X125 is a single acting, pull-type JIS round-body mini cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 125 mm stroke. An internal spring holds the rod extended at rest, and compressed air retracts (pulls) the rod on the work stroke, so only one air line is needed. Net pull output is about 132.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 215 N at 0.7 MPa, already after the spring, with a 0.2 MPa (28 psi) minimum working pressure and 50-800 mm/s speed range. As a practical guide, plan on roughly 80 N (about 8 kg) of working pull at 0.5 MPa, or a safe vertical load near 6 kg. If air is lost, the spring simply pushes the rod back out to its extended rest position.
Construction is a riveted SUS304 stainless barrel with a hard-chrome (20 um) carbon-steel rod, a two-way lubricant-storing piston seal, and a fixed anti-impact bumper pad that only softens the stroke end. The JIS footprint (not ISO 6432) with a 10 mm rod, M10x1.25 male thread and 1/8" ports suits compact damp or washdown fixtures. The 150 mm maximum standard stroke is capped by the spring; for two-way travel or longer strokes, step up to the double-acting MG series, and add the -S magnet code if you need CMSG, DMSG or EMSG position sensing.

Retract a locating pin

Choose the MTG25X125 when your motion is a one-way pull of about 80 N working force at 0.5 MPa (132.6 N net, 215 N at 0.7 MPa) over 125 mm. Bore 20 gives the smallest MTG pull (84.8 N at 0.5 MPa); bore 32 (224.8 N) or bore 40 (339.1 N) suit heavier draws. Remember the behaviour: the spring extends the rod and air retracts it, with a 0.2 MPa (28 psi) pressure floor, and the spring limits standard strokes to 150 mm. For two-way travel or longer strokes pick the double-acting MG. Mount with LB foot, FA flange, CB clevis or SDB pivot, add I or Y rod knuckles, and specify the -S magnet if CMSG/DMSG/EMSG sensing is required. Ports are 1/8" on every MTG bore; thread options are PT (blank), G or NPT.
