About the Airtac MTG Stainless Steel Mini Cylinder MTG25X150S
The AirTAC MTG25X150S is a single acting, spring-return PULL cylinder built to the JIS mini-cylinder footprint: a 25 mm bore and 150 mm stroke in a riveted round body with a SUS304 stainless barrel and a hard-chrome-plated 10 mm rod. Because the internal spring extends the rod and compressed air retracts it, one air line is all you need, which simplifies plumbing on machines where the working motion is a one-way draw, close or tension stroke. With the magnet fitted as standard (-S code), CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches can be clipped on for end-position sensing.
Net pull output, already after the spring, is about 132.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 215 N at 0.7 MPa. A practical working figure is roughly 80 N, or about 8 kg of sustained pull, which suits light clamping, pin retraction and web-tension duties. If you need a two-way powered stroke or travel beyond 150 mm, the spring-return design will not suit it; step up to the double-acting MG series instead. Remember the direction of action: the spring extends the rod and air pulls it in, so the work must happen on the retract stroke, and the supply must reach at least 0.2 MPa (28 psi) to overcome the spring.
