About the Airtac MTG Stainless Steel Mini Cylinder MTG25X50S
The AirTAC MTG25X50S is a single acting, pull-type JIS round-body mini cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 50 mm stroke: an internal spring holds the rod out at rest, and compressed air retracts (pulls) it on the work stroke. Because air acts on only one side, a single 1/8" port feeds the whole cycle, which simplifies plumbing on draw, retract, close and tension motions. Net pull output, already after the spring, is about 132.6 N at 0.5 MPa and 215 N at 0.7 MPa, with working pressure from 0.2 MPa (28-145 psi range) and speed from 50 to 800 mm/s. The fitted magnet (the S code) allows CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches to signal rod position.
Construction suits damp and washdown-adjacent lines: a SUS304 stainless barrel, a hard-chrome plated carbon-steel rod (20 um chrome), riveted covers and a two-way lubricant-storing piston seal, with a fixed anti-impact bumper pad softening each stroke end. In practical terms, 132.6 N is roughly 13.5 kgf, so halving it gives a safe working load of about 6 kg for vertical lifting duty. The spring return also defines fail-safe behaviour: on air loss the rod extends back out, so the cylinder will not hold a load in the retracted position.
