AirTAC Pneumatics
AirTAC ACPJ series adjustable-stroke DIN-standard compact cylinders, 12-20mm bore, double acting, with an external stop screw to trim the extend stroke on site.
inventory_2217 models availableThe ACPJ is the adjustable-stroke version of the DIN-standard ACP compact cylinder. An external stop screw shortens the extend stroke within the ordered window, letting you fine-tune the forward end position without changing the cylinder. It is double acting with a short hard-anodized aluminium body, S45C hard-chrome rod, two-way seal, and fixed bumper at both ends.
The range covers three small bores: 12, 16, and 20 mm, with M5x0.8 ports. At 0.5 MPa, push force spans about 57 N (bore 12) to 157 N (bore 20). The adjuster is a mechanical end stop for the extend stroke, not a mid-stroke lock - on air loss the piston drifts, so it is never a load-holding brake. A magnet option (-S) is available for position switches.
Note: the ACPJ is discontinued. The current replacement is the ISO 21287 ACEJ series (e.g., ACPJ20X25 becomes ACEJ20X25). Legacy model numbers remain searchable, but specify ACEJ for new designs.

Use the ACPJ to clamp small parts in a jig or fixture. The adjustable stop screw trims the clamp position to match part thickness, and the compact body fits tight machine envelopes.
Mount an ACPJ to push small cartons or components off a conveyor. The 12-20mm bore range provides 57-157 N push force at 0.5 MPa, enough for light indexing tasks.
The ACPJ's adjustable extend stroke lets you fine-tune the applicator pad's forward position to match product height, while the fixed bumper absorbs the impact at stroke end.
In a small lab automation module, the ACPJ's compact size and adjustable stroke allow precise positioning of a gripper or probe. The magnet option (-S) enables position sensing for cycle confirmation.
Choose the bore based on the required push force: bore 12 for light indexing (about 57 N at 0.5 MPa), bore 16 for medium pushes, and bore 20 for the strongest push in the series (about 157 N at 0.5 MPa). The adjustable stroke lets you trim the extend position on site, so order the maximum stroke window that fits your envelope and set the stop screw during commissioning.
Confirm five points before ordering: bore (12/16/20 mm), stroke window, port thread (M5x0.8), mounting style, and whether you need the -S magnet for switches. For side loads or ISO 15552 tie-rod interfaces, step out to the AirTAC SC or ACQ series. For a fixed-stroke compact, use the ACP; for double-rod, use the ACPD. Since ACPJ is discontinued, specify the ACEJ for new projects.
Quick checklist
At 0.5 MPa, the push force spans about 57 N for the 12 mm bore to 157 N for the 20 mm bore. Pull force is lower because the rod reduces the effective area. Confirm exact values from the datasheet for your operating pressure.
The ACPJ is the adjustable-stroke version of the ACP compact cylinder. It has an external stop screw that shortens the extend stroke within the ordered window. The -S option adds a magnet for position switches. The ACP is fixed-stroke, and the ACPD is double-rod.
No. The ACPJ is a DIN-standard compact cylinder, not a tie-rod or ISO 15552 cylinder. It is discontinued and replaced by the ISO 21287 ACEJ series. For new designs, specify ACEJ; legacy ACPJ model numbers are still searchable.
No. The ACPJ is double acting and the adjuster is only an end stop for the extend stroke. On air loss, the piston drifts. For load holding, use a mechanical lock, rod brake, or pilot check valve.
