This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X100-10 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X100-10 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-10

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-10 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100-10 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-10

This is a double acting, adjustable-stroke compact cylinder from AirTAC's discontinued ACPJ line. The 12 mm bore delivers 56.5 N push and 42.4 N pull at 0.5 MPa, rising to 79.2 N at 0.7 MPa, with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code adds a 10 mm adjustment window: an external stop screw trims the extend stroke anywhere between 90 and 100 mm on site, so one cylinder covers several fixture positions without changing parts.

The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which matters in slim gantries and guarded stations. In practice, plan for about 34 N of usable work at 0.5 MPa (roughly 60% of the rated push), which corresponds to lifting about 3 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note that the 100 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard maximum for bore 12, so it is made to order. This model is discontinued; the current drop-in is ACEJ12X100, and buyers should confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping since the ACP was DIN-standard.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X100-10 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

Where the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-10 Is Used

science

Lab sample pusher

Slides small vials or slides 90-100 mm into a test position; the 10 mm stop window lets technicians fine-travel the extend stroke without swapping cylinders.

sensors

Light fixture clamping

The 34 N usable push at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat small PCB brackets or covers in an electronics assembly station.

vertical_align_bottom

Compact ejection in tight cells

The short body, about half the length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, ejects finished micro-parts from a narrow die or mold pocket.

Replacing the Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-10 with the ACEJ12X100-10

At 12 mm bore this is the smallest force class in the range: 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa versus 100.5 N for bore 16 and 157.1 N for bore 20. Choose it for light part presenters and sensor checks; step up a bore if your load needs more than about 34 N of working force. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke and is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod will drift if air is lost. The rod end is female M3x0.5 and the port is M5x0.8; FA/FB flange and LB foot mounts bolt to the standard face. No magnet is fitted on this code, so position switches cannot be used unless you order the -S variant. For new projects, specify ACEJ12X100 instead.

Replacement checklist

  • ✓ Current-production ACE → ACEJ12X100-10
  • ✓ Same bore / stroke / force class
  • ✓ Confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions
  • ✓ Port/thread type (PT / G)
  • ✓ Add -S for magnet if you need sensors

Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-10 FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa it pushes 79.2 N and pulls 59.4 N; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -10 code gives a 10 mm window: the stop screw trims the 100 mm extend stroke down to 90 mm. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends. The 100 mm stroke is non-standard for bore 12 (50 mm max standard) and is made to order.

Only if the cylinder carries the optional -S magnet code; this version has no magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches cannot be mounted. The ACPJ family is discontinued. The current-production replacement is ACEJ12X100 (swap the P for an E), a drop-in in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before ordering since the ACP was DIN-standard.
