This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACEJ12X100-100 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACEJ12X100-100 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACPJ Adjustable Compact Cylinder ACPJ12X100-100 is a double acting, adjustable stroke DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø12mm bore and 100mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACEJ12X100-100 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This double acting compact cylinder from AirTAC's ACPJ series carries a 12 mm bore and a 100 mm stroke with a full 100 mm adjustment window, so an external stop screw can trim the extend stroke anywhere in a 0-100 mm range on site. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 79.2 N and 59.4 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The 100 mm stroke exceeds the 50 mm standard limit for this bore, so it is a made-to-order build. Note: the ACPJ family is discontinued - the current-production replacement is ACEJ12X100, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.
The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into slim fixtures, guarding and small gantries. A hard-anodized aluminium body with an S45C hard-chrome 6 mm rod, fixed TPU bumpers at both ends and M5x08 ports (M5x0.8) round out the build. In practice, plan on about 34 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa - roughly 2.9 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin. No magnet is fitted; the optional -S code adds one for CMSE / DMSE switches. Speed range is 30-500 mm/s.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACEJ12X100-100 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 57 N | 42 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 79 N | 59 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 12 kgf | |
The ACEJ12X100-100 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACPJ | DIN compact cylinder (adjustable-stroke, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 12 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×100 | Stroke length in mm. |
| -100 | Adjustable stroke window (mm the extend stroke can be shortened on site). |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 0-100 mm adjustable extend stroke lets one cylinder serve several fixture depths when pushing light plastic or stamped parts off a nest.
With the optional -S magnet and CMSE / DMSE switches, the 56.5 N push at 0.5 MPa is enough to seat probes and confirm connector engagement.
About 2.9 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin matches snap-on lids and small cartons where the short body must fit under a low frame.
At 56.5 N push (0.5 MPa) this 12 mm bore suits light clamping and positioning; step up to the 16 mm bore for 100.5 N or the 20 mm bore for 157.1 N if the load grows. The stop screw only shortens the extend stroke - it is not a mid-stroke lock, so the rod can drift if air is lost. Mount via FA/FB flange or LB foot; the female M3x0.5 rod thread takes standard I/Y knuckles. For switch feedback order the -S magnet variant. Since ACPJ12X100-100 is discontinued, spec ACEJ12X100 as the drop-in successor and verify ISO 21287 hole patterns first.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 56.5 N and pulls 42.4 N; at 0.7 MPa, 79.2 N push and 59.4 N pull; theoretical maximum is 11.5 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The -100 code gives a 100 mm adjustment window: a stop screw shortens the 100 mm extend stroke anywhere within 0-100 mm. The 100 mm stroke is a made-to-order length because the bore 12 standard maximum is 50 mm. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) and speed runs 30-500 mm/s.
No - the ACPJ is discontinued. The current-production replacement is ACEJ12X100, an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class. Before swapping, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture, since the ACPJ was built to a DIN-standard footprint. Also note the magnet is optional: order the -S code if you need CMSE / DMSE switch sensing.
