This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE32X90 — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE32X90 in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP32X90 is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø32mm bore and 90mm stroke, 1/8" air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE32X90 (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
A double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, the ACP32X90 drives a 12 mm hard-chrome rod from a 32 mm bore and delivers 402.1 N of push force at 0.5 MPa (345.6 N on the pull stroke). The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length cylinder simply will not fit. Air range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof rating, and rod speed runs 30-500 mm/s.
Built around a hard-anodized aluminium body with threaded aluminium covers, this model carries a fixed TPU bumper at both ends and a female M8x1.25 rod thread on a 1/8" PT port. Plan on roughly 240 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa (about 0.6 of the rating), which is a vertical lift of roughly 24 kg - halve that to about 12 kg for a 2:1 margin when matching a real part weight. Note the ACP line is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE32X90, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. Position sensing needs the optional -S magnet code; without it no CMSE or DMSE switch can be fitted.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE32X90 (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 402 N | 346 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 563 N | 484 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 82 kgf | |
The ACE32X90 produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 32 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×90 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 402.1 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium brackets in a drilling fixture, and the short body fits inside the jig plate where a full-length profile cylinder would overhang.
A 90 mm stroke ejects small cartons sideways off a packaging line belt at up to 500 mm/s, with the fixed TPU bumper softening the return against the end stop.
Mounted on an LB foot bracket, the cylinder advances a small linear slide on a PCB handling machine; add the optional -S magnet and a DMSE switch to signal end of stroke.
At 32 mm bore you get 402.1 N push at 0.5 MPa; if your load needs less, the 25 mm bore gives 245.4 N, and if you need more headroom the 40 mm bore reaches 628.3 N at the same pressure. The 90 mm stroke sits well inside the 200 mm standard limit for this bore, so no made-to-order stroke is required. Remember the piston drifts when air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must stay put. Choose FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounts, and order the -S code if you want the magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches. For new projects, spec the ACE32X90 instead, as this ACP model is discontinued.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 402.1 N and pulls 345.6 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 563 N push and 483.8 N pull. The theoretical maximum is 82 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, rod speed 30-500 mm/s, and air filtered to 40 um. For real work, budget about 240 N of push at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating.
Yes, the ACP family is no longer in production. The current drop-in is the ACE32X90, which matches the same 32 mm bore, 90 mm stroke and force class - just confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping, since the ACP was built to a DIN standard. On sensors: the magnet is the optional -S code, so only order ACP32X90S if you need CMSE or DMSE reed or solid-state switches; the plain model has no magnet at all.
