AirTAC MACD Series Double-Rod Cushioned Mini Cylinders

The AirTAC MACD is a double-rod mini pneumatic cylinder with a variable air cushion at both ends. Seven bores from 16 to 63 mm cover 86 N up to 1457 N of thrust at 0.5 MPa, and because a rod exits both covers the force is equal in push and pull. The variable cushion decelerates the piston near each stroke end, protecting the machine at cycle speeds up to 800 mm/s.

Every MACD shares the same construction: a high-precision stainless steel barrel, a carbon steel piston rod hard-chrome plated to 20 um, and aluminium alloy covers riveted and rolled onto the barrel into a sealed rolling-packed body. The piston carries a two-way seal that also stores grease, so no lubrication is needed. Operating pressure is 0.15-1.0 MPa, temperature -20 to +70 C, and a magnet is built in as standard, so CMSG, DMSG or EMSG switches can be added for position sensing. Ports scale with bore: M5x0.8 at 16 mm, 1/8 inch at 20-40 mm and 1/4 inch at 50/63 mm.

Neighbouring variants split the same platform by function: MAD is the double-rod version with bumper pads and no cushion, MAC is the single-rod cushioned cylinder, and MACJ adds adjustable cushioning. Choose the MACD when the job needs both rods and tunable end-of-stroke damping.
