The AirTAC Airtac 3V Solenoid Valves 3V106FG is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V106FG is the G-thread, 12 V DC build of AirTAC's smallest 3/2 solenoid body: a G1/8 BSPP parallel port with bonded-seal face, a DC12V coil drawing only 2.5 W, and a standard DIN plug connection. The suffix G is what sets this SKU apart - it orders the BSPP parallel port instead of the family's default PT tapered thread. Functionally it is a direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve that either feeds your outlet or vents it to exhaust, so it suits single-acting cylinders, air blow-off, clamps and pilot duty. It carries a manual override for commissioning and an IP65 (DIN 40050) coil housing, and it arrives in one fixed initial state - confirm it on the datasheet before wiring.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V1 catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V1 | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| DC12V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| G (BSPP parallel) | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A 12 V battery-fed pneumatic circuit on a ground-support or maintenance cart benefits from the low 2.5 W coil draw, and the G1/8 BSPP port mates cleanly with bonded-seal fittings that resist vibration loosening.
Laboratory and QA rigs that switch a purge or clamping line from a 12 V DC bench supply use the spring-return 3/2 action to vent the line safely whenever power drops.
A truck- or van-mounted chip-blowing point run from the vehicle's 12 V system uses the DC12V coil and manual override to cycle and check the air blast during setup.
Because 3V1 publishes no Cv or effective-area figure, treat flow as an open question: if your duty is flow-critical, send us the application and we will confirm sizing before you order. When you need more passage, step up to the 3V2 (1/8" and 1/4", NC or NO selectable, Cv 0.18-0.19, and rated for vacuum) or the 3V3 (1/4", Cv 0.62); pick 3V2M instead if a dense manifold matters more than flow. If the actuator is a double-acting cylinder, you need the 5-port AirTAC 4V series, not this 3-port body. Before ordering the 3V106FG, tick off five points: G1/8 BSPP port (PT is the family standard, NPT and G are catalogue options to order), the DC12V 2.5 W coil against your supply, DIN plug versus the I flying-lead entry, individual valve versus a 1F-20F manifold station count, and the initial state from the datasheet.

It is a 3/2 direct-acting, single-solenoid, spring-return valve with a G1/8 BSPP port, a DC12V coil rated 2.5 W and a DIN plug entry. Operating pressure is 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), ambient and medium temperature is -20 to 70 C, and protection is IP65 (DIN 40050). For comparison across the family: AC220V and AC110V coils draw 4.5 VA, AC24V draws 5.0 VA and DC24V draws 3.0 W. No Cv or effective-area figure is published for 3V1, so confirm flow-critical duties with us.
It switches a single line - feeding or venting it - so it drives single-acting spring-return cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping and pilot duty on a larger valve. It cannot drive a double-acting cylinder, which needs a 5-port valve from the AirTAC 4V series. The G suffix specifies a BSPP parallel port, which pairs with bonded-seal fittings; PT is the family's standard thread, and G or NPT versions are ordered as catalogue options like this SKU.
