Airtac 3V2M-F Base 3V2M5F

The AirTAC Airtac 3V2M-F Base 3V2M5F is a genuine 3V2M manifold base for 5 stations on one shared air supply. A base is a machined block: it carries no coil and no solenoid, so the valves that sit on it are ordered separately.

About the Airtac 3V2M-F Base 3V2M5F

The 3V2M5F is a machined five-station manifold block for the AirTAC 3V2M solenoid valve family. It carries up to five 3/2 valves side by side, feeds them all from one shared PT1/8 air supply, and collects their used air into a single centralised exhaust port, so the pipework on the machine stays short and tidy.

The block itself contains no coil, no solenoid and no electrical rating - all of that lives in the valves, which are ordered separately. Because the valves sit on one base they share one wiring route too, which makes tracking down a faulty station faster than chasing five individual bodies.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V2M catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.

The initial state cannot be changed after ordering. 3V2M uses a dedicated base gasket, and reversing or flipping that gasket does not convert NC to NO. Order the state you need up front.

What a 3/2 Valve Does

A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.

That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.

It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.

Is the Airtac 3V2M-F Base 3V2M5F the Right Part?

When ordering, match five points: the NC or NO state of each valve you mount (fixed at order), the coil voltage, DIN plug versus flying-lead entry, the thread and the exhaust arrangement. PT1/8 is the standard thread on this family; G and NPT are catalogue options you specify when ordering.

Five stations at 7.0 W each mean a fully loaded DC24V build draws 35 W - plan the power supply around that. 3V2M is the density pick at Cv 0.1; if a single circuit needs more flow, step up to an individual 3V2 (Cv 0.18 at 1/8 in, vacuum-rated) or 3V3 (Cv 0.62, 1/4 in). The 3V1 at 3.0 W DC suits small, low-power duties. To actuate a double-acting cylinder you need the AirTAC 4V series instead.

Confirm before you order

  • ✓ Port size and thread (PT from stock; G / NPT to order)
  • ✓ Initial state — NC or NO, ordered up front
  • ✓ Coil voltage matches your controller output
  • ✓ Electrical entry — DIN plug or flying lead
  • ✓ Single valve, bare base, or complete assembly
  • ✓ Single-acting duty, not double-acting

Installation & Wiring Notes

  • check Use clean air filtered to 40µm or finer.
  • check Stay within 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi) operating pressure.
  • check Use the manual override to test before powering up.
  • check Leave the exhaust port clear, or fit a silencer.
  • check Blank any unused station on the base before pressurising.
  • check Wiring by qualified personnel, per AirTAC documentation.

Airtac 3V2M-F Base 3V2M5F FAQ

The base is a passive block: five stations, one shared PT1/8 supply, centralised exhaust. The valves fitted to it operate at 0-0.8 MPa and -20 to 70 C, each with a flow coefficient Cv 0.1, coil power of 7 VA on AC or 7.0 W on DC, and IP65 protection. Those last ratings belong to the valves, not to the manifold itself.

Station count is fixed by the base you buy - this one accepts five valves, so pick a longer base if you need more circuits. The NC or NO state of each valve must also be chosen correctly when ordering; it cannot be converted afterwards by any field modification. Valves are ordered separately from the base.
