About the Airtac 3V2M Solenoid Valve 3V2MNCB-8FD
The 3V2MNCB-8FD pairs eight normally closed 3/2 valve bodies with an 8FD base whose D suffix gives every station its own exhaust port. Instead of sharing one silenced outlet, each valve vents where you pipe it - through its own silencer, into a collector, or to a safe area - which also makes a leaking or stuck station easy to isolate by ear or by hose.
Valves are direct-acting, single solenoid, spring return, coaxial shut-off; outlets stay vented until each DC24V DIN plug coil is energised. Eight coils at 7.0 W total 56 W, near 2.3 A at 24 V with all on. Flow is Cv 0.1 per stage, pressure 0-0.8 MPa, IP65. PT1/8 thread standard; G and NPT are order options.

What a 3/2 Valve Does
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.

Is the Airtac 3V2M Solenoid Valve 3V2MNCB-8FD the Right Part?
Pick the -8FD over the -8F when vent routing matters: oil mist capture, hot or corrosive exhaust, or simple per-station diagnostics. Otherwise the sizing logic is the same - Cv 0.1 per station, so move a flow-hungry point to an individual 3V2 (Cv 0.18 at 1/8 in, 0.19 at 1/4 in, vacuum-rated) or a 3V3 (Cv 0.62 at 1/4 in), and use 3V1 at 3.0 W DC where power is tight.
Lock in five parameters when ordering: NC state, DC24V, DIN plug entry, 8 stations, independent exhaust. The initial state is fixed for the life of the valve and cannot be converted in the field. Double-acting cylinders are outside 3/2 scope - specify the AirTAC 4V series.
