The AirTAC Airtac 3V2M Solenoid Valve 3V2MNCFI-13F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
At thirteen stations the 3V2MNCFI-13F gives a machine builder a single manifold block that carries most of a mid-sized fixture's on/off air functions: thirteen 3/2 normally closed, direct-acting valves with spring return and coaxial poppet sealing, all fed from one PT1/8 inlet.
Shared supply and shared wiring are the quiet benefit: because every station hangs off the same base, a station that misbehaves stands out immediately against its neighbours, and spare slots or mixed valve types can be added within the family as the machine evolves. Each AC220V coil takes 7 VA (91 VA across thirteen energised valves), and the IP65 (DIN 40050) rating guards the electrical side.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V2M catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V2M | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| NC | Normally closed: no air at the outlet until the coil is energised. |
| DC12V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| I | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 13F | 13 stations in one assembly, centralised exhaust. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
A dedicated fixture with thirteen swing clamps around a welded subassembly is powered from one inlet, with each clamp venting the instant its coil drops out.
Ejector and kicker cylinders on a stamping line switch on/off air at thirteen points, with the spring return closing each valve the moment its coil de-energises.
Guard-door lock or stopper circuits across thirteen access points stay vented whenever the AC220V control circuit is off, matching a failsafe design philosophy.
This assembly wins on station count and wiring simplicity, not flow: expect Cv 0.1 per valve through the shared-base path. If a particular actuator needs a bigger aperture, hang a single 3V2 beside the manifold (Cv 0.18 at 1/8 in, 0.19 at 1/4 in, vacuum-rated) or step up to 3V3 (Cv 0.62, 1/4 in, vacuum-rated); 3V1 at 3.0 W DC covers low-power small-bore duties.
A 3/2 valve will never drive a double-acting cylinder - that job belongs to the AirTAC 4V series. Settle five choices at order time: initial state (NC on this code, and no field conversion to NO is possible), AC220V voltage, flying-lead entry, thirteen stations, centralised exhaust, plus thread - PT standard, with G and NPT available as catalogue options.
Confirm before you order
Flow coefficient Cv 0.1 per valve; operating pressure 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi); temperature range -20 to 70 C; coil power 7 VA per AC220V valve, 91 VA for thirteen; IP65 (DIN 40050); PT1/8 ports; medium air filtered through 40 um or finer, no lubrication needed.
NC keeps every outlet vented until its coil is energised, which many designers want for clamps and stoppers on power loss. The state cannot be changed afterwards - the dedicated base gasket does not convert NC to NO - so confirm state, voltage, entry, station count and exhaust before ordering.
