The AirTAC Airtac 3V2M Solenoid Valve 3V2MNOC-3F is a genuine 3-port 2-position (3/2) solenoid valve with 1/8 in ports. It either feeds its outlet or vents it to exhaust, which is what makes it the valve for single-acting cylinders, on/off air blow, clamping, vacuum switching and pilot duty.
The 3V2MNOC-3F arrives as a working unit: three normally open 3/2 bodies already seated on a 3-station 3V2M base, each coil rated at 7 VA on AC110V with a DIN plug connection. Because the valves are normally open, air flows from supply to outlet the moment pressure is applied and only vents when a coil is energised - useful where a fail-open condition is wanted during a power cut.
Each valve is a direct-acting, spring-return poppet with coaxial shut-off for tight seating, and the shared base gives all three stations one common air supply and one common wiring run. Flow is Cv 0.1 per station since the path passes through the base. Three AC coils together draw about 21 VA when all are held energised, so an AC110V control transformer sized above that keeps the panel comfortable.

Figures follow the official AirTAC 3V2M catalogue. Confirm coil voltage and thread (PT / NPT / G) against the product label before wiring.
| 3V2M | Body — sets the flow, the coil power and whether vacuum is rated. |
|---|---|
| 1/8 in | Port size. M5, 06 = 1/8 in, 08 = 1/4 in, 10 = 3/8 in. |
| NO | Normally open: air passes until the coil is energised. |
| AC110V | Coil voltage. A = AC220V, B = DC24V, C = AC110V, E = AC24V, F = DC12V. |
| — | Electrical entry: I = flying lead, otherwise a DIN plug. |
| 3F | 3 stations in one assembly, centralised exhaust. |
| PT | Port thread. PT ships from stock; G and NPT are available to order. |
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.
Normally open valves keep diverter gates fed with air by default and vent them on command, so a control-power failure leaves the line in its pass-through state rather than jammed.
Three clamps that must stay pressurised while cutting benefit from a common supply and shared wiring on one base, letting an operator trace a fault to a single station quickly.
Air pulses to cleaning nozzles continue under spring-open bias and stop only when each coil is energised, with all three stations exhausting through one shared silencer port.
Choose this assembly when three fail-open 3/2 functions can live at a lower per-station flow: Cv 0.1 at 1/8 in PT is the trade-off for manifold density. If any single station needs more, fit an individually ported 3V2 body there (Cv 0.18 at 1/8 in, 0.19 at 1/4 in, and vacuum-rated), or step up to 3V3 at Cv 0.62 on 1/4 in where the duty is heaviest; 3V1 at 3.0 W DC is the pick when coil power must stay small. Where a double-acting cylinder is the load, move to the 5-port AirTAC 4V series instead.
Before ordering, confirm all five points: normally open state, AC110V coil, DIN plug entry, 3 stations, and centralised exhaust on the PT-threaded base. The NO setting is fixed at order - the dedicated base gasket cannot be flipped to turn this into NC, and no field conversion exists.
Confirm before you order
Each of the three valves is a 3/2 direct-acting spring-return body with a flow coefficient Cv 0.1, rated 0-0.8 MPa (0-114 psi), working from -20 to 70 C on air filtered to 40 um or finer with no lubrication needed. The coils are AC110V at 7 VA each with IP65 (DIN 40050) protection and a manual override for commissioning. The base is 3 stations with centralised exhaust and PT1/8 ports (G and NPT are order options).
No. The initial state of a 3V2M valve is set by how it is built, and reversing or flipping the dedicated base gasket does not change it - the catalogue states this explicitly. A NO valve passes air to the outlet until energised and vents when the coil pulls in; an NC valve does the opposite. If your logic needs NC, order a 3V2MNCC-3F instead. Also note this 3/2 valve drives single-acting spring-return cylinders, blow duty, clamping and pilot stages - a double-acting cylinder requires a 5-port AirTAC 4V valve.
