About the Airtac 3V2M Solenoid Valve 3V2MNOC-8F
The 3V2MNOC-8F combines eight normally open 3/2 valves on a single base fed by one air supply and one harness. Eight AC110V coils at 7 VA each add up to 56 VA if every station is energised at once, so size the control transformer for that worst case, not for one valve.
Each station is a direct-acting, spring-return coaxial poppet with Cv 0.1 and PT1/8 ports, IP65 rated, with manual override. In the de-energised rest state all eight outlets pass air; energising a station vents it. The base is the 8F block with a centralised exhaust, and the NO state is set by the dedicated gasket - it cannot be reversed later.

What a 3/2 Valve Does
A 3/2 valve has three ports — supply, outlet and exhaust — and two states. It either feeds the outlet or vents it to exhaust, and that is the whole job.
That makes it the right valve for a single-acting (spring-return) cylinder, on/off air blow, a clamp, switching a vacuum generator or suction cup, and piloting a larger valve.
It cannot run a double-acting cylinder. A double-acting cylinder needs air alternately on two sides, which takes a 5-port valve — the AirTAC 4V series.

Is the Airtac 3V2M Solenoid Valve 3V2MNOC-8F the Right Part?
With eight stations sharing one supply, keep the worst case in view: 8 x 7 VA = 56 VA of AC coil load, with Cv 0.1 of flow per valve. If any single duty outgrows that, mount an individual 3V2 (Cv 0.18 at 1/8, 0.19 at 1/4) or 3V3 (Cv 0.62) beside the manifold; 3V1 at 3.0 W DC suits low-power duties. A double-acting cylinder needs the 5-port AirTAC 4V series instead.
