This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X120S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X120S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X120S is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 120mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X120S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
This AirTAC ACP25X120S is a double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, with a 25 mm bore and a 120 mm stroke on a 10 mm hard-chrome S45C rod. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 343.6 N and 288.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. The S in the code means the optional -S magnet is fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be mounted directly on the body.
In practical terms, plan on about 147 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which corresponds to lifting roughly 15 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin - enough for small clamps, gates and part pushers. Air supply is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) filtered to 40 um, speed runs 30-500 mm/s, and fixed TPU bumpers at both ends absorb end-of-travel shock. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production replacement is the ACE25X120, a drop-in successor in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X120S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X120S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×120 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium or plastic workpieces in drilling and milling jigs, and the 120 mm stroke clears part loading in tight fixture plates.
With about 15 kg vertical-lift equivalent, the cylinder kicks off-spec cartons or blisters off a conveyor lane, guided by CMSE or DMSE switches on the fitted -S magnet.
The short body fits inside compact analysis modules, raising sample trays and sensor heads where an ISO 15552 profile cylinder would be too long to mount.
Size against the neighbours: the 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa, while the 32 mm bore reaches 402.1 N, so the 25 mm at 245.4 N sits squarely between them for medium clamping and pushing jobs. The 120 mm stroke is within the 150 mm standard range for this bore, so no made-to-order stroke is needed. Choose female rod thread M6x1.0 (this model) or the B male-thread variant, PT or G ports, and FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounting to match the fixture. If the load must hold when air is lost, add a rod lock or pilot check valve - a plain cylinder drifts. Order the ACE25X120 as the current replacement.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N. At 0.7 MPa push is 343.6 N and pull is 288.6 N. The theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, air filtered to 40 um, speed 30-500 mm/s and temperature -20 to +70 C.
Order the ACE25X120, the ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same 25 mm bore, 120 mm stroke and force class with a short body and a compatible mounting family (FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis). Because the ACP was DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before the swap. The -S magnet code carries over for CMSE / DMSE switch mounting.
