This model is discontinued

AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X150S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X150S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X150S

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X150S is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 150mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X150S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.

About the Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X150S

The ACP25X150S is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and 150 mm stroke, carrying the optional -S magnet so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be fitted for end-of-stroke sensing. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those figures rise to 343.6 N and 288.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. Its short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body will not fit.

Practically, plan on about 147 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa rather than the full rating, which corresponds to lifting roughly 15 kg vertically - halve that to about 7.5 kg if you want a 2:1 margin for a real part. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome rod with a fixed TPU bumper at each end, running on 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) filtered air at 30-500 mm/s. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X150, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X150S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.

The ACE25X150S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.

Where the Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X150S Is Used

packaging

Carton flap tucking

A 150 mm stroke reaches across a carton on a packaging line, and 245.4 N at 0.5 MPa is ample for folding flaps; the -S magnet feeds a CMSE switch to confirm each tuck.

precision_manufacturing

Fixture part ejection

Machined bushings can be pushed clear of a drill jig with about 147 N of working force, and the short body fits inside the fixture plate where a long cylinder cannot.

sensors

Gated conveyor diverters

A pusher gate on a bottling conveyor uses the 150 mm travel to divert bottles, with a DMSE switch on the -S magnet signalling gate position back to the PLC.

Replacing the Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X150S with the ACE25X150S

At 150 mm the stroke sits exactly at the maximum standard stroke for the 25 mm bore, so no made-to-order extension is needed. If 245.4 N of push at 0.5 MPa is marginal for your load, step up to the 32 mm bore (402.1 N); if the force is generous, the 20 mm bore (157.1 N) saves space and air. The female M6x1.0 rod thread accepts standard rod knuckles, and FA/FB flange, LB foot or CA/CB clevis mounts bolt to the same face. Because a plain cylinder drifts when air is lost, add a rod lock or pilot check valve for held loads. Order the ACE25X150 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 mounting footprint.

Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X150S FAQ

At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa, 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull; theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. For sizing, treat about 147 N as the usable push, which lifts roughly 15 kg vertically - or about 7.5 kg with a 2:1 safety margin. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, speed 30-500 mm/s, air filtered to 40 um.

Order the ACE25X150, the ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same 25 mm bore, 150 mm stroke and force class with a short body and a compatible mounting family (FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis). Because the ACP was DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before the swap. The -S magnet code carries over, so CMSE and DMSE switches remain available.
