This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X25S — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X25S in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X25S is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X25S (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X25S is a double acting compact cylinder in the DIN-standard ACP series, with a 25 mm bore, a 25 mm stroke and the optional -S magnet already fitted, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke sensing. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 343.6 N and 288.6 N. The short ISO 21287-class body saves roughly 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, which is why it slots into tight jigs and guarding where a full-length body cannot. Air is the only fluid, filtered to 40 um, at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) with a 1.5 MPa (215 psi) proof pressure, running 30-500 mm/s between -20 and +70 C.
For sizing, treat about 147 N (0.6 of the push rating) as the usable force at 0.5 MPa, and expect roughly 12 kg of vertical lift once a 2:1 margin is applied. The hard-anodized aluminium body carries aluminium covers threaded on, the 10 mm S45C hard-chrome rod ends in a female M6x1.0 thread, and fixed TPU bumpers sit at both ends. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE25X25, same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X25S (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X25S produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa clamps aluminium brackets or plastic housings in a machining jig, and the 25 mm stroke keeps the fixture footprint minimal.
With the -S magnet fitted, a CMSE or DMSE switch confirms the rod is fully extended before the operator loads the next part.
About 12 kg of vertical lift with a 2:1 margin is enough to press flaps or hold cartons steady during taping at 30-500 mm/s.
At 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa this 25 mm bore sits between the 20 mm bore (157.1 N) and the 32 mm bore (402.1 N); step down for lighter clamps, up if your load needs more than about 147 N of working force. The 25 mm stroke is well inside the 150 mm maximum standard stroke for this bore, so it is a catalogue item. Because a plain cylinder drifts when air is lost, add a rod lock or pilot check valve if the load must stay put. FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis mountings bolt to the same face, and the -S magnet on this unit accepts CMSE / DMSE switches. Order ACE25X25 as the current replacement and verify ISO 21287 dimensions.
Replacement checklist
Push is 245.4 N and pull 206.2 N at 0.5 MPa; at 0.7 MPa push is 343.6 N and pull 288.6 N, with a theoretical maximum of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a double acting 25 mm bore, 25 mm stroke compact cylinder with a 10 mm rod, M5x0.8 ports, female M6x1.0 rod thread, 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi) operating range and 30-500 mm speed.
Order ACE25X25, the ISO 21287 successor: swap the P for an E and you get the same bore, stroke and force class in a short-body compact cylinder. Confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture first, since the ACP was built to the DIN standard, and remember the magnet is an option (-S code) on the ACE, not standard.
