This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X25SBCA — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X25SBCA in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X25SBCA is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X25SBCA (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
The ACP25X25SBCA is a double acting DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and a short 25 mm stroke. Air drives the piston both ways, a fixed TPU bumper decelerates at each end, and the hard-anodized aluminium body carries an S45C hard-chrome 10 mm rod with a male thread (the B code). At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa those rise to 343.6 N and 288.6 N, with a theoretical ceiling of 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures a full-length cylinder cannot reach.
This unit carries the optional -S magnet, so CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clamped straight onto the body for end-of-stroke sensing. The CA clevis you ordered bolts to the same mounting face. Because the bumper never locks the piston, the rod will drift if air is lost - add a rod lock or pilot check valve if you need a held load. Note that ACP is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is ACE25X25, so confirm ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before you swap.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X25SBCA (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X25SBCA produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa seats bearings or dowels into aluminium housings on an assembly bench, with the 25 mm stroke suiting shallow press depths.
With the -S magnet fitted, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm the jaw has closed on a plastic bracket before the robot picks the part.
A short-stroke pusher flips cartons between lanes on a food packaging conveyor, where the compact body fits under the guard rail.
At 25 mm bore this sits mid-range: the 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa if your load is lighter, while the 32 mm bore reaches 402.1 N when you need more muscle. For a 245.4 N push rating, plan on roughly 147 N of real work at 0.5 MPa, which is about 15 kg of vertical lift once you halve the 25 kgf equivalent for a 2:1 margin. The male rod thread suits I/Y knuckles, and the CA clevis allows a pivoting mount. Stroke 25 mm is well inside the 150 mm standard for this bore, so no made-to-order build is needed. Order the ACE25X25 as the current replacement and verify the ISO 21287 hole pattern first.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa, 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull; theoretical maximum 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a double acting compact cylinder, 25 mm bore, 25 mm stroke, 10 mm male-thread rod, M5x0.8 port, running on air filtered to 40 um at 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), -20 to +70 C, speed 30-500 mm/s, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
Order the ACE25X25, the ISO 21287 successor made by swapping the P for an E. It matches the same bore, stroke and force class and keeps a short body, but because the ACP is DIN-standard you should confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping. The CA clevis and the -S magnet option carry over in the ACE family.
