This model is discontinued
AirTAC has phased out the MAL series. The drop-in replacement is ACE25X25SH — same bore, stroke, output force, port and mounting, so it fits the same application. Simply order the ACE25X25SH in place of this model. The ACE replacement is a current-production ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class, with a matching short body and the same mounting-accessory family, so it fits the same envelope. Confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before ordering.

The AirTAC Airtac ACP Compact Cylinder ACP25X25SH is a double acting DIN-standard tight/compact air cylinder with a Ø25mm bore and 25mm stroke, M5×0.8 air ports and a hard-anodized aluminium body. This model is discontinued — the current-production replacement is the ACE25X25SH (ISO 21287 ACE), in the same bore, stroke and force class.
Double acting on both strokes, the ACP25X25SH is AirTAC's DIN-standard compact cylinder with a 25 mm bore and a short 25 mm stroke. At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N, rising to 343.6 N push at 0.7 MPa. The short ISO 21287-class body saves about 50% of the mounting length of an ISO 15552 profile cylinder, so it slots into tight fixtures, guards and slides where a full-length body will not fit. Because this unit carries the optional -S magnet code, CMSE or DMSE reed and solid-state switches can be clipped on for end-of-stroke sensing.
The hard-anodized aluminium body carries aluminium covers and an S45C hard-chrome rod, with a fixed TPU bumper at each end that only decelerates the piston - it never locks or holds a load, so use a rod lock or pilot check valve if the position must survive a loss of air. In practice, plan on roughly 147 N of usable push at 0.5 MPa, which lifts about 12 kg vertically with a 2:1 margin. Note this model is discontinued: the current-production drop-in is the ACE25X25 in the same bore, stroke and force class - confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions before swapping.

Specifications follow the official AirTAC ACP datasheet (now discontinued). The ACE25X25SH (ISO 21287) carries the same bore/stroke/force class; confirm mounting-interface dimensions against the ACE datasheet before installation. Rod type: female thread (blank) or male thread (B). Thread options: PT (blank) / G.
| Pressure | Push force | Pull force |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5 MPa | 245 N | 206 N |
| 0.7 MPa | 344 N | 289 N |
| Max (@1.0 MPa) | 50 kgf | |
The ACE25X25SH produces the same force from the same bore. Actual usable force is lower than theoretical; size with a margin.
| ACP | DIN compact cylinder (double-acting, discontinued). |
|---|---|
| 25 | Bore size in mm. |
| ×25 | Stroke length in mm. |
| S | Optional built-in magnet for sensor position sensing (omit for no magnet). |
| B | Rod type: B = male thread; blank = female thread. |
Replacement mapping (swap P for E): ACP→ACE, ASP→ASE, ATP→ATE, ACPD→ACED, ACPJ→ACEJ. ACP-family: ACP (double acting), ASP / ATP (single acting push / pull), ACPD (double rod), ACPJ (adjustable stroke).
The 245.4 N push at 0.5 MPa secures aluminium brackets or plastic housings in machining jigs, and the 25 mm stroke keeps the fixture footprint minimal.
With the fitted -S magnet, CMSE or DMSE switches confirm the 25 mm push-off stroke is complete before the conveyor indexing step releases.
About 147 N of practical working force at 0.5 MPa presses connectors and pins into PCB assemblies inside tight bench-top fixtures.
For a 25 mm stroke in this force class, the ACP25X25SH sits mid-range: a 20 mm bore gives 157.1 N push at 0.5 MPa for lighter clamping, while a 32 mm bore reaches 402.1 N when the load grows. If the piston must hold position with the valve centred, add a rod lock or pilot check valve - the fixed TPU bumpers do not brake. Mounting options include FA/FB flange, LB foot and CA/CB clevis, and the female M6x1.0 rod thread accepts standard I/Y knuckles. This model is discontinued; order the ACE25X25 as the current ISO 21287 replacement and verify mounting dimensions.
Replacement checklist
At 0.5 MPa it pushes 245.4 N and pulls 206.2 N; at 0.7 MPa, 343.6 N push and 288.6 N pull; theoretical maximum is 50.1 kgf at 1.0 MPa. It is a double acting compact cylinder, 25 mm bore with a 10 mm rod, M5x0.8 port, PT body thread and female M6x1.0 rod thread. Operating range is 0.15-1.0 MPa (22-145 psi), proof 1.5 MPa (215 psi), speed 30-500 mm/s, temperature -20 to +70 C, with a fixed TPU bumper at both ends.
AirTAC no longer produces the ACP family. The direct current-production successor is the ACE25X25, an ISO 21287 compact cylinder in the same bore, stroke and force class with a matching mounting family (FA/FB flange, LB foot, CA/CB clevis). Because the ACP is DIN-standard, confirm the ISO 21287 mounting dimensions against your fixture before swapping. The ACE also accepts the optional -S magnet for CMSE / DMSE switches.
